Roviakin71
I've played Hearthfire and I like the ability to build your own home and adopt some kids but it left me with some distress. If you and your family are going to live in one of the homesteads you would be living outside the safety of the town walls. That means your family would be vulnerable to bandit raids, wild animals and monsters and the occasional dragon attack. And you are not always going to be there do defend your home and your steward is only one person. I think the player should be able to build a defensive wall around your property. They wont be huge castle walls, they would be more like the palisades you find around orc strongholds. Also when you talk to your steward you can hire up to 8 guards who would help to defend the homestead.
surfwater401
I totally agree with you! And a way so bandits can't get in, I'm using a wall around my house with some guards, but this is for the house near falkreath. And it works, but bandits still get in and it's pain. I agree. If there was a mod or something to allow the player to have a wall surrounding to prevent dangers from coming in and keeping the children safe. It would also be nice if you can adopt any children you see. Cause there are 4 kids outside on the streets, and then like 5 in the orphanage. That would be nice, a wall protecting the family and where you can have as many kids as you want. Good thinking too mate.
Roviakin71
Not to mention a riverwood style gatehouse, a Riften style watchtower (I like the Riften towers as they would provide better protection than the open platform towers you find in bandit camps, but are better looking than the ruined stone towers you find all over Skyrim) and a guardhouse that resembles the Karthwasten Miner's Barracks.
