Tchos
There are plenty of vault homes already. Why not? The GECK tutorial even begins by having you build a vault. So I don't expect there's much call for this, but I've been building this one to my own personal tastes, and I've thought about sharing it once I've added a couple more rooms. So, I'm a spoiled vault-dweller. (And speaking of spoiled, there are a couple of vault-related spoilers here, which I've hidden.) The wasteland's fine for the adventurer/explorer type, but my character has grown up in comfort, used to a clean place. Vault 101 has kept tidy with perfectly functioning technology for all this time, and so did Vault 112, so it's reasonable to expect there are a few other such sanctuaries. According to the in-game lore, some vaults were designated as controls in the experiment, designed and run exactly as the advertisements said they would be, with nothing sinister about them. Like Vault 76, which is mentioned as being in the DC area, but isn't actually there. That's what mine is. Clean, well-lit, comfortably furnished, and specifically planned to accommodate followers. I've made a nice path grid, and installed plenty of idle markers for NPCs to interact with while they're in sandbox mode. I altered the follower scripts for my game so that when I tell my followers to "wait here" they go into sandbox mode (walking around the place and interacting with things) instead of guard mode (where they just stand there). So what I have so far is:Entrance roomCombination armoury and lab, with lockers, gun cabinets, ammo boxes, and junk cratesMy first laboratory setA couple of computers with that little text adventure game on them2 pristine Nuka Cola machinesA barBig dining room with jukebox that plays GNR, and billiardsSome garbage bins that are set to respawn, to dispose of unwanted junkWorkbench with convenient storage cabinet and toolbox nearbyVarious shelves and tables to display items onAnyway, I'm adding a dorm area, galley, and bathroom/showers over time, and as I acquire more followers to populate the place. Here's a small gallery showing the place, and showing NPCs interacting with a couple of the markers (I added quite a few, cooking, typing, exercising, lab work, repair, barkeeping, etc. The NPCs should always have plenty to do.) thewaronandrew
I was going to quickly reply with a snide comment about how nobody has anything unique to bring to the world of Vault homes. But yours actually has quite a few unique features. You have the interior design skills that I don't have, I'm having a rough time with my mod.
