installing dawnguard...or.and hearthfire?

hi guys,

 

i am planning to buy skyrim as well as the DLC for PC.

i guess there are 2 available, dawnguard and hearthfire.

 

so...if i wish my game to be most up-to-date,

 

should i install dawnguard + hearthfire,

or

just adding hearthfire data to skyrim?

Install the game first and let it update to the current version (1.8.151.0.7). Then you can purchase and install Dawnguard and/or Hearthfire. General information on updates can be found here.

 

Dawnguard will give you more content in quests, armor and weapons etc. Hearthfire will enable you to build a house and adopt children. I got both. But if I had to choose only one, it would be Dawnguard.

 

You might also consider installing the Unofficial Skyrim Patch. And follow that up with the unofficial Dawnguard and Hearthfire patches that are also linked on that page.

 

And finally, I recommend Nexus Mod Manager to install the unofficial patches and whatever mods you choose in the future.

Don't forget BOSS for your load order if you are planning to mod your game.

 

Could be useful Wryebash, because with the bashed patch you'll merge levelled list from mods, and TESedit, to clean some mods.

 

Use always a manager installing mods (NMM is good but give problem with some mods, so take another too my favorite is TES mod manager, but there are several of them in the nexus.

a lot of mods need SKSE and Skyui as well.

 

Always install mods one at the time, installing a lot of mod at the same time could corrupt your game.

 

to have a stable game and avoid problems(the most of them at least) read always mods description and 2 or 3 comments pages.

 

Some people suggest to disable autosave and to don't use quicksave because they could give problem (i experienced some...)
