BanjoOz
I was quite happy with what I could do with the limitations of FOMM's tools, but when the GECK came out I decided to remake my mods in that for better compatibility. Ironically, it seems it is HARDER to make mods compatible using the official tool! I like to make "loot lists" separate with my mods... eg one esp that contains the weap, stat, texture, withammoxxx and repair lists, and a SECOND esp that just adds that weapon to vendors and random containers. With FOMM, I did this by making the first esp a "master file" for the second, and it worked fine (for me, at least!), meaning I could load up my first esp (the gun) and then any loot list esp I've made that adds it (eg one that adds just it, or one that adds it and other new guns). Now, when it comes to the GECK, I approached things in the same way. Making the mods is no trouble (I load up Fallout3.esm and any plugins I want the "loot tables" to use... then save all the new/changed loot lists to a new esp), but when I reload or try to editmy new "loot list" esp afterwards (again, I load up all the esps I used to make it), the GECK throws a fit saying it can't find various FormIDs/items (eg the new guns in the other loaded esps) and/or "this item isn't unique" or just plain crashing! I can see NO way to add "master file" dependencies in the GECK as I did in FOMM... IS there a way?! I assume this is the problem. I tried using FOMM to set those dependencies, but when I loaded into the GECK again and saved, it seems to delete them! I'd really love someone who's an expert with this (or Oblivion's CS, as I assume the "tricks" are all the same) to give me some advice, help, or just point me in the right direction! :) Failing any of this being possible... is there a way to merge mods (esps) together, so I don't have to make multiple copies from scratch! It just bugs me that although it allows MUCH more, and the interface is nice, the GECK seems to have made my mods harder to update/create, not easier. :(

BanjoOz
Just in case SOMEONE has the same problem, I found the closest thing to an answer here: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index...lation_Tutorial Sadly, I suspect the programs mentioned only work with Oblivion, not F3, but I am going to have a play and see if I can find a way around the problem anyway (at least glad to see it's a fault/"feature" of the editor, not something I was doing wrong!).
