what do you think of this model?

Something in my mind says it's not Dwemer... But I'm not sure what I think it IS. :']

I saw a comparison picture of this guy's armour with armour from some sort of assassins' faction, but I forget the name.

That doesn't detract from how awesome it and your reproductions are, though. :D

I would prefer the skirt version as well; fits in better with the rest of the armors in Skyrim though I would recommend to keep the trousers under the skirt (its pretty cold in this land I heard ^^).

But I also have another suggestion:

If you look at the guy in the trailer, you can see that he has this little stripe of cloth in the middle at the front. You can see it in the bottom left corner of the pic you linked in your first post between his legs.

The Avatar of Grenth by newermind43 has a great example of the thing I mean:

You could add one of these in the front and one on the back. This way you could have a hybrid of your two suggestions

I am anxious to see this armor when its finished!

ok guys, the model is ready, i will add some more thing maybe, maybe some stripe but the shape is done!

i have a great new as well, samvs96uk the great guy that collaborated with me to the stormcloak explorer armor mod will make a quest with a dungeon and a totally new little settlement that will be added with the mod and will be explorable by the player (in the tamrielic province of high rock)

so this mod will be more than a simple armor mod, we will give you new gameplay experience just because we love you

as always model render here:

I think the pants would be better, but with some kind of armor on the thighs. I prefer armors in the game like DB or TG armors that don't have guys wearing skirts. (or even female characters)

I also am wondering if maybe a few of your details couldn't be eliminated for the sake of poly count, but I'm not an expert on the subject. But I look at those clasps and buckles and wonder if they're necessary in the actual mesh or could be added in the texture just as effectively.
