TranscendentWings
Hello all!First, this is my first time posting on the forum so I would like to thank everyone who has made my game that much better with their mods (SKSE, SkyUI, Dragons Diversified, More Dragons, etc), Second, I would like a bit of help building a mod combination to make the Skyrim of my dreams come true. What I would like is a better Skyrim that doesn't look modded. So many mods (many of which are masterpieces) don't seem to fit in right. Either the added NPCs look out of place, the new stuff doesn't fit the surroundings, the NPCs don't talk in a voiced game, the feature implementation doesn't seem to fit the style of the game and don't match the feel, or they add something that stands out. What I want is a game that plays a bit more like Morrowind (no fast travel, transportation system that doesn't go everywhere and uses a variety of mediums, and has a more localized economy that reflects the unique regions of the game), has smarter enemies that change up tactics and don't just run at you with a sword or blast you with magic, has smarter merchants (why the heck do the smith's steal business from themselves by selling ingots and such), has more randomness in travelling (such as what the mod "Extra Encounters" accomplishes), more dragon variety (Dragon's Diversified), makes the "Voice" something to actually fear/use, makes money more valuable and less obviously scaled with the Player in mind, doesn't play like a regular RPG with the level progression (very convenient that everything powerful knows to give you a sporting chance to level before showing up, but also quite what I'm looking for), and, most importantly, I want it to feel like one, seamless game. Does anybody know mods that contribute to this desired game? I'm wanting to go into modding to fix my problems with this great game (mostly the perk trees for now), but why reinvent the wheel when someone else fixed something. CoeurConnect
There are several mods on the Nexus that "redo" Skyrim. Pobably the most popular is SkyRe. Everyone and their mother uses SkyRe... I tried it but it isn't for me. - Overhaul of all the perk trees - Adds new perk tree called "Wayfarer" - Max level of 300 and skill formula cap of 150 - Makes money harder to come buy, vendors are deleveled - Overhaul of all Racials - Stamina-focused combat forces you to use tactic - Overhaul of the standing stones - Stops enemy scaling - Tweaks enemy AI - Introduced "Encounter Zones" The only thing that I have to say about SkyRe is that it really changes the game perk-wise, and the author changes stuff that doesn't exactly need to be changed. But you should look into it more on the mod page (linked above). The other alternative is Requiem. I have nothing bad to stay about Requiem, but it makes the game very challenging and I was already challenged enough by Vanilla Skyrim. - Leveling is redone (makes enemy difficulty static like SkyRe does) - Perks & Skills are redone (perks are more relevant, jack-of-all-trades characters harder to build) - Spells are redone, including benefits for specific armour when worn by mages - Combat is redone to be loads harder, foes possess skills and perks, and they'll bash with shields more often - Attributes are redone and grant passive bonuses like they did in older TES games - A lot of items hand-placed into the world - Some quests edited to be harder - Merchants are redone and they'll now actively try to rip you off if you don't have speechcraft skill - Pickpocketing requires a perk and lockpicking is harder - Racials and Stats are redone - Diseases are deadly (This isn't even all Requiem does)Personally I suggest Requiem, but you should look at both mod pages and use what sounds good to you. These two (which I will look into) look more or less exactly like what I wanted. Have a great weekend and God bless!
