UTKujo
The option to dismiss a companion is missing. I can still use the companion dismissal terminal but it's just so annoying I had to run back again and re-hire those I want to keep on my team. dubiousintent
You should be able to dismiss a companion from the "JIP Companions Command and Control" "Companion Settings Panel". Double check that mod's requirements. Most common problem is failing to keep up with the JIP LN NVSE plugin updates. The next most common is an issue with the "User Interface". "User Interface (UI)" problems indicate you have changed XML files. This is often caused by an "install order" problem with more than one mod replacing or editing the same XML file. Please see the wiki "HUD-UI-Menu issues" article. (This takes some interpretation as applies to your situation. There are too many permutations for an "if A then B" type of guide. If you haven't encountered XML files before then the "TL;DR" section is not going to help by itself.) "Disabling" mods is not enough to restore things to "vanilla" if they overwrote any files. UI mods definitely do this, and can make "edits" to other existing XML files. You have to "verify local files" to restore the originals, and still may need to delete the "loose files" so those vanilla versions get used from the BSA files. Then correct the sequence in which you install those UI affecting mods. Please see the 'Restoring to "Vanilla"' entry of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. -Dubious-
Manan6619
Sorry for reviving an old thread, but it's the only one I've found with this specific issue and I want to be sure anyone else looking for it in the future will see this. Your issue with your companions was almost definitely from my mod, A World of Pain - Unofficial Revisions. I've just recently discovered errors in some vanilla dialogue records that I hadn't realized had been altered when making changes. For anyone else with "AWoP - Manan's Tweaks" in their load order having this issue (or any other dialogue-related problems), please update the mod to version 1.2 that I've released (or just remove it).
