the one i am trying to use is imperial legion faction mod alpha and some others i cant quite remember and I seem not to be getting contacted by a guy in dawns servant mod

OK, after you have successfully downloaded the file (Mod-14453.rar) you need to 'extract' the .rar file to a temporary folder of your choice.

Once the .rar is extracted you will have 4 seperate files instead of a whole host of zipped files.

Put the 'Legion Faction Meshes' folder into your Oblivion\Data\Meshes folder.

Put the 'Legion Faction Textures' folder into your Oblivion\Data\Textures folder.

Put the 'Legion Faction Mod.esp' file in your Oblivion\Data folder.

(It's a good idea to move the 'Imperial Legion Faction Mod Alpha - Readme.txt' into the same folder and also read it)

Note, this is an alpha mod and issues are to be expected. You should read the comments posted by other individuals, who have also downloaded and installed this particular mod, to get a clearer picture of what to expect from it.

Whatever method you use to launch your game you need simply to 'check' your new .esp and you're done. (I bet you already knew that, didn't you - quote from: Iron Eagle)

Good luck now. :whistling:

If the textures and meshes are in .bsa, that is the Bethesda compression method. All .bsa files should be placed directly in the data folder. They do not need to be unzipped to work. The game unzips .bsa files on its own.
