The Abyss of the Mind

I woke up to see the room bathed in a golden Autumn light, the window open and the curtains flapping in the breeze. Crinkled brown leaves littered the floor. I looked about; the room was obviously a hospital ward. Diagrams on the white walls, cabinets, medicines, machines; it was unmistakeable. The door was ajar, but noises from inside coould be heard, only leaves in the wind.

This was when I became frightened. Why was it silent? Why had the window been open for so long? Why was I here? I realised that I had never been in hospital before. I didn't remember injuring myself. I was wearing my normal clothes. What happened?

A dull thud brought me back to reality. Or was it real? The noise was followed by a soft noise, like something being dragged. Then a thump. The the noise. It sounded like distorted footsteps. I got up and peeked through the crack in th door. I froze. Limping down the corridor, a horrifying figure appeared to scan about. I thought it did, but it didn't have a face. It looked like it might have been a nurse once, but it was distorted. On leg was twisted, and the foot had been replaced by a tentacle. It's hand were claws, and it's arms were streched. But the face haunted me. If it was a face... that turned towards me...

<I plan to add to the story regulary, usually once or twice a week, with a few characters. I do have a vague plot idea, and a specific ending in mind, but if you have any plot ideas please PM me.>
