MDRud216
Tarysus' smile grew as he left his own question unanswered and came to stand before his prisoners. As soon as the young Emperor is in front of you the recognition hits you like a hammer.During the life of his father he received little fame, he was merely a mistress' son brought over form Darel's homeland, wherever that may be. Even now as the new Emperor of Galor, a broken and disapointing inheritance as it was you do not see him in any royal light. All you see in front of you is a symbol of evil in its prime, and as you look into the eyes of it the memory comes flooding back. The gaunt boy seemed to be running on sticks he was so thin... the look of desperation on his face was so evident as the poudning of heavy hooves behind came closer. The adrenaline of leaping up from your previous idle state and taking cover had left you without breath, but you barely noticed. The boy's eyes shift towards Alenee's hiding place and as they do he trips over the smouldering log of your fire.It was at that moment that the armored horses emerged from around the bend in this clearing. The lead rider leans from his saddle precariously, swiping his broad sword through the air and disembodying the childs head and hands as he raised them to protect himself... The soldeirs horse was whining, standing on his back legs before coming back down upon the body, trampling it beyond recognition. It was Tarysus, dismounting and searching through the mangled corpses rags only to find the remains off a few eggs. He through them at the ground, spitting on them with disgust."It is a shame we could not have returned them to the royal kitchen usable..." The rage rekindled in the minds of Quarian and Akechi, Tarysus Vedus Darel, the heir to the throne of Galor was the murderer, and inspirer of the fledgling revolution."You are the rebels," he says blatantly. "I am disappointed Aseir could not join us in this discussion, I killed him."Quarian exhaled in disbeleif at the stupidity, "You lie murderer, your soldiers spoke of him before you arrived.""Ahh, well its all the same, my father had agents in position in Habassa as soon as suspicion arose in their involvement in something. He didn't know what, yet, but they brought back deatiled information on Emissiary Miristar, for it was he who would soon be relocated here. Now, it was because of my fathers ignorance that the attack on our capital took place, he was so concerned about rebellion, and Habassa's possible interest in sparking one that he was blind to other threats. I'd say this attack probobly could have been prevented if one of his drunken soldiers had not stumbled across some idiotic poem, or riddle, or whatever you want to call it. After its discovery of course an agent was sent to investigate the old mill we burned down a few days previous. One Gavian Sorullis and his partner, he returned with the name Quarian after staking out while you plotted against my father. He never returned from his second trip out, I assume that was your doing?" Tarysus paused, feeding on his own anger for a moment, he was thinking about something else now. "When I killed that boy, there were the remains of a camp, this was after Gavian's first report mind you. Same area as you were lurking, the log was still smouldering. I knew it had to be the rebels and now I have you right in front of me. So, which one of you is Quarian, the ring leader in this stupid plot?" By this time the emperors voice was shaking, he was afraid and angry; not someone to be at the mercy of.
Shadow of the Fallen
The movement was so carefully planned and positioned, that no one but Quarian noticed the light kick against the side of his leg. The message was simple and obvious, follow my lead, don't say too much. Simultaniously, Thrin tilted his head back slightly, building up a reserve of saliva in the back of his throat, before lobbing it at Tarysus' enraged expression. It was a solid hit below the right cheek bone, and, if nothing else, it made the man even more volitile. That was the plan. Thrin endured a swift backhand that left him dizzy, but not stupid. He continued to speak, though reason and his sore temple told him not to, "I told you I'm the one you wanted, you sadistic b*. Look at the knife I carried with me, it held the insignia of the imperium. I'd bet it belonged to this fool you sent after me, but I've killed to many of your men to remember." With the last phrase, he flashed a truly diabolical smirk of his own. He was already bracing for the next strike.
MDRud216
the last part of Tarysus' self-control was wiped away with Thrins infuriating blob of saliva."How dare you!" his face was flush with rage as he drew his blade, his hand quivering violently. He rose it above his head, muttering something inaudible as he shifted his weight and began stomping towards you."No! Let go of me you angel's son!" he cries as the vice admiral grabs his sword arm. For a moment it seems that Tarysus would kill him, but the other officer joined in restrianing him. They seemed to be struggling a bit, but the vice admiral tried his best to keep an eye on his prisoners between Tarysus' thrashes."I want 5 more soldiers up here!" the vice admiral calls to the only other Imperial in the room. With a nod he turns back and rushes down the stairs.
Shadow of the Fallen
OOC: Courtesy of MDRud216... IC:THEY'RE LOOSE! THE BINDINGS ARE LOOSE! The very thought burned through Thrin's mind as he wriggled a hand, attempting to free it. He laughed maniacaly. In their own haste, they forgot to bind me properly, of all people! His hysteria built, what a joke this was, three men against him. Even without a weapon, those were never good odds for them even at the start of his smuggling days. To add pleasure to comedy, they were distracted even further now. What a day for the rebellion! No, he couldn't kill them now, there were 5 gaurds on their way here as he pondered the thought. But he would have to make a move quickly. If only that sword were still pointed at him, it would take but a sudden move to render his enemy both harmless and hostage, but right now the struggle would make that impossible. Hmm, he tried to get a good look at the men while keeping up his hysteria. In particular, for what sort of weapons they carried (hint-hint DM). If he could just obtain something--anything; even his shoelaces--then it would be a good day indeed. And if not, he'd have to go to hell sometime, better in a blaze of glory. Again, his mind echoed 'no!' He wouldn't be any use to his allies dead. They still had to get out of here too. The only thing he could think to do for the moment was enrage them even more. People did irrational things during fits of rage. A man with a steady head could take down many his number that way... If he's careful. "Oh, you're all brothers then? This town only has one angel you know."
MDRud216
Only the vice admiral spares you a glance from above Tarysus' shoulders, his arms are wrapped around the furious mans torso, but you are disappointed to see that he is every bit better tempered then the Emperor. From somewhere below you hear a muffled voice, "Get up there!" and as the stairway echoes with the soldeirs feet The two men manage to throw Tarysus to the ground, for but this moment their backs are toward you and the vice admiral's blade is sheathed on his side. The only obstacle of your temptation are the gaurds on their way up the stairs; you know that you have only a few precious seconds before they arrive. Shadow of the Fallen
There is not even an instant of hesitation, not a single split moment of pause. There is only action. The kind of reaction came to the gaurds turning their backs that was preemptive of the actual event. Yet for all its swift magnificence, it was something completly expected from Thrin. He was crazy like that. The smirk was erased in its entirety from Thrin's face. Replacing it was his cool, calm mask of professionalism. His brow was creased into concentration as he sprung forward, pushing off the wall behind him. The supple leather boots he wore made nearly no noise on the stone floor, his trained steps hit silently. He twisted his arms a little, and pulled his right hand free of the binding before tossing it to the ground. The short burst of speed it took to clear the distance to the vice admiral ended just as suddenly as it had began. With a small leap, Thrin landed a solid strike to the back of the Vice Admiral's right knee, causing him to fall. At the same time, his hand grasped the hilt of the weapon at the mans hip, drawing it as he fell. As the door opened to let the incoming gaurds in, Thrin held his captive by sword point, and was pulling him backwards over the body of Tarysus. He stepped on the self-proclaimed king's wrist, causing Tarysus' hand to release its grip on his sword. He twisted his heel, causing the man to cry out in pain as he took another step backward. "Stay out there if you want these men to live," Thrin called from behind his human shield, "take another step inside and I'll gaurentee their deaths." He placed the same foot he had on Tarysus' wrist a moment ago on the sword, and with a thrust pushed it towards Quarian. He mumbled back to them, "cut your bindings and get behind me." Movement from one of the gaurds forced him to shout again, "STAY WHERE I CAN SEE YOU. I'll feel no remorse in killing this murderer you call king, or his vice admiral." He punctuated the statment by giving Tarysus a solid kick to the head.
MDRud216
The second officer who had struggled to restrain the emperor a few moments earlier was out of your reach, on the other side of the young Emperor wincing in pain. He makes a moment's eye contact with you as if to say "You lose," and throws himself over Tarysus. With the thud the first soldeirs rush out of the stairway in your direction. Shadow of the Fallen
"Get out of those restraints, NOW!" Thrin barks above the thudding of shoes. Then turning on his new adversaries, lifting the sword high above his head, he whispers in the vice admirals ear, "I know over a thousand ways to kill a man, the one I had reserved for you was far worse than this..." And with that, he plunges the weapon into the mans back and shoves him into the soldiers coming up the stairway. The corpse serves to block them for a moment, knocking them back down the stairs only a short ways. There is, however, no time to think, as Thrin is met with the first of the five foes from the other side. Steel rings, thoughts flash, and at the thought of Tarysus just below him, blood boils. And so begins the dance with death. Thrin just hoped, as he let himself slip into the fluidity of motion, that it was enough time for Quarian and Akechi to free themselves. Ish garrad neen faldt... Surrender... To.. Me... OOC: Well, reprimand me if I cant kill the dude, but there wasn't much option left. And will someone else please post... I'm starting to feel like a one man army again, and I don't want that.
MDRud216
Quarain had somehow managed to grasp the blade, but maneouvering it behind his back to free his hands was extreemly difficult. When three armed gaurds rushed at Thrin he knew he had failed him. With his shoulder injury he doubted he would be of any use in combat if he could escape.Thrin's pointing blade impales the first soldier but the wieght of the others pushes him to the floor under the bleeding corpse. At the bottom of the heap there is little he can do to counter attack.Quarian dropped the blade and braced himself as one of the soldiers aproached him, club in hand. The darkness came quickly, and from the hints of seemingly vague and distant noises he knew Akechi had been hit as well."Theres a fire sir... its Jaileh.""Shut up! we have a situation to handle here...""Is Tarysus okay?" the voices were distorted, and he didn't care to listen to any more. When he opened his eyes again there was a soft breeze on his cheek. His arched body hurt as it swayed from side to side, He was being carried swiftly by two soldiers, one at his arms and the other at his legs. Above the square tower he had been in moments before danced before a backdrop of orange clouds; he must have been out of it for some time if the sun was beggining to set already. Beyond the tower a black haze was hovering low in the sky and the all too familiar smell of a burning home was in the air.The sun was low in the sky and at last a hard days work had ended. It had been harvest time, the yeild far greater then years before it. He was on the road, his arms and legs ached and the dirt and dust was caked onto his sweaty forehead. Home was a half miles walkdown this lonely road and the thought of his wife made it all the longer. Suddenly the sound of hooves came up from behind, the source of which nearly knocking Quarian from the road. An Imperial death squad, three mounted soldiers bearing whips and torches charged down the road ahead of him, his own home in the distance; Quarian bust into a sprint at the implications. It was the fastest that he had ever ran, but not fast enough. The riders were gone when he arrived and the falmes were creeping further up his roof and doorway. The desperate screams of his family came from inside.... A heavy reinforced door slammed closed in front of him, shoving reality back into his face quite forcefully. His bonds were cut and he forced himself to stand. Through a small barred opening in his cell door he could see the two cells across from him, Akechi and another, unknown face staried back at him through similar openings; he guessed Thrin was beside him."Well," his voice was somber, "What are we to do now?" Vao
OOC: Better post already. IC: "Not much to do," muttered Isys absent mindedly. "You lost your chance of possibly escaping. After the initial questioning, no one bothers with you, save for the occasional scrapes thrown in, usually just for the amusement of the guards." "But," Isys said seriously," the guards are talking about how furious Tarysus is, and apparently he isn't even going to question you again, and you are all going straight to the nuse at dawn. Maybe there is a chance you can escape, eh? Perhaps even without my aid."
