Spanners
@ op, This sounds like it could be really really good or really really bad. i mean if were going "super lore" mode, all Vault tec employees were spread around different vaults to start with, they were the original overseers, security, scientists/medics, engineers etc. I did realize that but this vault was intended for the top level Execs/Researchers and their families, not thethe run-of-the-mill staff who were put into the other vaults. It's was also intended as a safe place to backup/store all their top secrete research and prototype tech which would explain why its separate from the other vaults. Personally i think if you are going for the %100 lore friendly approach, i would keep it more as an underground observation lab, as its well known some vaults were "tests" or research into social interaction, how humans would live, what happens to the humans mind, how well order keeps in certain situations. ive always thought it weird such vaults exist, but no ones there to take results.... Thing is if u take that approach, your going to need npcs down there. Just some thoughts. From my interpretation of the underlying stories of those vault experiments, most of them ran-amuck, the overseers either lost control or direction or went on their own personal agenda, this could be explained by the fact that the Execs/Researchers intended for the Control/Observation vault (this one) weren't there? Thanks for the input, I'll add these thoughts to the project. @thewaronandrew This one isn't under the Vault-Tec HQ (way too obvious place for it). It's build in a secret location where it is unlikely to get hit directly or buried under rubble. So there's no conflict there. :D
Tagaziel
HAte to break a second layer, but the central observation facility for the Vault Experiment Program was on the Enclave Oil Rig. I'd dig a shelter for Vault-Tec employees that ironically malfunctioned and resulted in the inhabitants dying. Very Fallouty.
Spanners
HAte to break a second layer, but the central observation facility for the Vault Experiment Program was on the Enclave Oil Rig. I've not played the first 2 Fallouts so was not aware of that piece of law. I really wasn't going for 100% Fallout law compliance (heaven forbid), having not played the first 2 I don't know enough, so cannot. I just wanted to build a really decent sized vault (unlike the crappy ones in the main game) with interesting side quests that fitted in with the F3 story line. I'd dig a shelter for Vault-Tec employees that ironically malfunctioned and resulted in the inhabitants dying. Very Fallouty. It appears that thewaronandandrew have already done that mod while I was on holiday.
seryder
i never played fallout 2 or 1 but i read the info, but still this idea may not be bad, these secrets could be of somthing of different natures dosent have to be the same as the ones from the previous games, and so 2 of you made this, vvhy not vvork together and make somthing bigger, dont just give up on your ideas! id like to see this project come to, a mod is about Making somthing nevv and fun, canon or not! if you vvanna make it canon since some people argue this, http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_Wiki avvesome site vvith info, just vvatch for spoilers if you havent beat the game yet lol but anyvvay do vvhat you guys like. hope to see your mod soon! Spanners
For those who were interested in this project I am still working on it. I've completed 90% of the vaults layout (it is huge. 0ver 6 lvls) and have most of the story line for the 2 main quests worked out. I also intent to incorporate lots of non-cheating measures in this vault and stuff I've not seen in other vault mods yet. I estimate another 2 months work to go. Guest
Seems we All have similar ideas. Mine, a Private Vault/Bunker owned by the Nuka Cola Company CEO. Him, his family, and the familys of the top Execs moved in when the Bombs fell. and the place has been forgotten about since. Untill rumors started floating around about it's posiable existance. AND the existance of Power Weapons in the CEO's Private Armory. NOW the Enclave are IN the Vault Trying to gain access to the Inner Bunker (AND the armory). If I build it right, you'll find out "tid-bits" about it from talking to NPC's around the wasteland, leading up to finding the Access door. Then you have to battle past a "Gauntlet" (Pet Name for my MOD) of the Enclave's Best to clear out the Vault and Find a way to Unlock the Inner bunker Door. Leading you into the "Nuka Cola Bunker" Meet the CEO's (what's left) Kill, or Aid them, Gain Access to Armory. Load up on Goodies, and IF you can find the "Secret Back Door" your left with a short cut in and out of the bunker. And a second place to call home. Fully set up with Nuka Cola's Best Toys! any thoughts? (P.S. i WILL need Scripting help with This project, any takers?)
