Okiir
Is there an easy way to convert a mod that requires the Dawnguard DLC, to not require the DLC? The reason why I ask is that a lot of people have asked me to make a non-Dawnguard version of my mod: Halls of DovahndorThe problem is that in this mod I have used tons of stuff form Dawnguard. While making the mod I made several backups of the .esp file, so I have files of the mod that does NOT require Dawnguard. But these files are very unfinished. Or is the easiest way to open the latest version of the mod (that DOES require Dawnguard), and remove everything form the Dawnguard dlc. (Is this method even possible??) Or is there an easier way to do this??? For example by using the TES5Edit? To sum up, is the easiest method to... 1) load the old file and start over again? 2) remove everything that requires Dawnguard from the latest version of the mod (if that's even possibe)? 3) or is there an easier way to do it? Thanks Edited January 27, 2013 by Okiir
Deleted1308005User
1. might be the only way. 2. doesn't work. I am not sure if you could (after removing everything from dawnguard) rip off the DLC requirement from it. 3. not that I know. I'd say it's just best to keep it the way it is, or build it from the old backup.

Eckss
Method for 2. Copy your .esp file and name it 'ModCopy' or something. On the Data window in the CK, highlight ModCopy to bring up the Parent Masters. Click on Dawnguard on the Masters list and Ctrl+Del to remove it. Use TES5Edit, Load your Mod and ModCopy. Go through ModCopy, line by line looking for invalid entries and note down the editor IDs of the corresponding Form in your Mod. Replace those Forms with others that don't come from Dawnguard. Repeat the process to check. Finally remove Dawnguard as a Master from your Mod (Ctrl+Del), load it in the CK and address any new errors that come up for your Mod until its done. I don't know if that's easier than 1, but that depends on how many Dawnguard forms you have in the Mod. Good Luck. Eck. :)
Korodic
^ is correct. By removing dawnguard and everything in your mod that used dawnguard, you should no longer need it to function. In my opinion, screw that kid. Tell him to buy the DLC considering it basically is a modders resource which he is using to get more content, along with more modder content. It's been on sale half price like 5 times, and i think it is right now too. :P
