faenu
I haven't played this fantastic game for awhile. My hard drive crashed and took all my mods with it. I finally got a new computer with Win 10 (of course), and I've forgotten the simplest of mod installation. I want to download the Bodahn Feddick mod that allows me to adjust the pricing, but I can't even figure out how to install the daupdater. I thought I adjusted the pricing in the .ini file and when I point at the backpack it shows the appropriate price change (1g and some odd silver), but it shows a totally different price (7g and some odd silver) in his inventory. I can't buy the backpack for the lower price. Please help?

theskymoves
I'm assuming that the mod you are using is this one. 1. Does it appear in the list of installed mods accessible from the startup menu?2. If so, could you copy and post the configuration as added to your dragonage.ini file? Also, did you install and configure the mod prior to entering the Party Camp map for the first time? Merchant pricing (markup/markdown %) may be one of the variables that is established and locked into the game's saves when a map is initially accessed. FIREFLY11
Hi faenu! If you need a refresher on mod installation, just go to YouTube & type in "Dragon Age Origins mod installation" & you'll find all sorts of handy tutorials (you can also find some for the daupdater). That's how I learned & if I was able to do it there's hope for anyone. Good luck! Best, FIREFLY11
Pasquale1223
but I can't even figure out how to install the daupdater.Just a quick note - the daupdater is actually part of the game install, and lives on the same sub-directory as the game executable. Mine is on C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age\bin_ship. Also, a reminder - if you've recently reinstalled the game, don't forget to make it large address aware (sometimes called LAA). faenu
Thank you all so much. I can't even get Bodahn to act right. hahaha So simple to adjust the markup and markdown you'd think, but Win10 makes it so complicated. 3 different places it could go... ingame difference in prices... blah, blah, blah. Over 4 little lines added to the config.ini file! lol Sheesh. I still don't have that working right. :P
theskymoves
What do you mean by '3 different places it could go...'???? Each thing has a very specific place that it needs to be, and if it is anywhere else, the mod won't work. As Pasquale1223 said, the daupdater.exe to install the DAzip is in the bin_ship folder, located in the game install location 'Dragon Age' folder. The DAzip will always install to the AddIns folder in your Bioware/Dragon Age folder, in the Users/Documents folder. ([drive letter]:\Users\[user name]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\AddIns). The dragonage.ini file is always located in the game's Settings folder ([drive letter]:\Users\[user name]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings).
