Regarding the returning Drop-Ship 'Cut-Scene'

Currently, I am being forced to witness the entire clip and no amount of pressing 'Escape' helps end the monotony. Anyone else being forced to watch the full length scene?

My wish for this game is that they add in the options, the choice to switch off ALL CUT Scenes, just like 3rd person cam etc.

It's weird that the very thing's the Dev's thought would make this game ...pretty...I guess.....are the same things that eventually give this game a short life-span. The fixed storyline being the strongest example.

Also, a soldier simply reloading (before anything else) should not have his whole turn used up. It takes half a turn after they have moved etc, so it should be that we should be able to reload and 'overwatch', or even reload then run etc.

I think they got the reloading thing right. It gives you a choice. You can:

1. Reload, without moving possibly die etc

2. Use 1 move, then reload

3. Use 2 moves dash and get out of there

4. use pistol/grenade/launcher etc

5. Also most of the time you have to make choices for your guys to reload or overwatch/hunker

So you can see it plays an important part of the whole tactical game. Its supposed to give you that choice and add to the tactical gameplay. If you think about it logically being able to reload at the start of the turn would infact negate the need to have a reload function at all. Waste of everyone's time from the animators creating the animations to you yourself pressing the key.

If you're not using any mods and have the Steam version, try re-validating your files. I've had that happen to me and doing that has cured it for a while. Some sort of memory leak? Who knows.

The issue with the returning-to-base clip taking an extremely long time (as well as loading a game saved in the strategy side) arises when the DLC is added to the base game.

There is an error in the config file merging that causes the ini file to load one the DLC art assets 1 additional time each time the game is started. If you've started the game 100 times, then the game is loading the DLC art assets 100 times, which makes for a long load time.

Originally it was thought that it was a mod causing this, but I've verified that it occurs even with a freshly Steam-verified set of vanilla files. Discussion about how to clean out your config file to reduce load times can be found here:
