Mr MMMM
Well I changed the line in fallout.ini to blnvalidate....(whatever =1) but my modded/custom armor and guns still just show up as a giant !. All I do is take the mod and put in the data folder, do I need to include textures and meshes in their appropriate folders as well? (only one custom armor set came with this)
lonezergling
umm...yeah? Where do you think the model and textures for the mod ARE exactly? Just copy your Meshes and Textures folders from the mod and paste into your Data directory. Say yes to any overwrite prompts.
Mr MMMM
Does that mean that I can't have two custom guns/armors at the same time, since I need to have the same name on seperate folders for each one? Or is there a way around this? Excuse my computer noobiness please, I'm not very good with them >_>
lonezergling
As long as it's a mod that has an .esp file, it should work just fine. The armor and weapon will have their own files inside all those folders.
Mr MMMM
...Wut? I'm getting confused here (again, excuse my noobiness. I'm aware I probably sound really stupid right now). First you said I had to put the folders and say yes to overwrite prompts, then you say I don't? If I have two sets of armor that both have a unique textures folder, then can't I only run one at a time since they both have to be named "textures" and "meshes", etc? Or, if I don't have to do that, then I still don't understand my problem because the custom items still don't show up as anything but the giant !. edit: Okay, I actually managed to get one custom armor set to get working, but I'm still stuck with the problem of getting multiple custom weapons or armors to show up. I can't just not load the mod because I've already saved with the giant !'s in game, so if I do that the game freezes on startup. btw lonezergling, I'll give you some kudos since you've been nice enough to me. Thanks.
lonezergling
Can you link me the mod? I can tell you exactly what needs to go where to make it work.

lonezergling
For the Shadow Ops armor, just open the win.rar file, extract the textures folder, the meshes folder, and the ShadowOpsArmor.esp file into your Data folder. When it prompts you to overwrite, click yes. For the Hellfire armor, download the "Hades Hellfire Armor V2" file. Open it. Open the "Hades Hellfire Armor Complete" folder. Open the Data folder. Extract the Sound folder, Meshes folder, hadeshellfire folder, and the Hades Hellfire.esp to your Data folder. When it prompts you to overwrite, click yes. Then, run the Fallout 3 launcher. Click Data Files. Check the 2 mods and click ok. Play game. Enjoy. When it askes you to overwrite those files, all it's saying is that it wants your permission to add the files you are pasting to that folder set. It's not actually overwriting anything. Everything inside is all the same, it's only adding new stuff.
