TopHatMan
Hey nexus, I've been wanting to get into modding a bit and I figured a fun way to learn would be to do what I have wanted to do for awhile now - make a follower out of one of the yngol barrow blue orbs. So far I have gathered that this will be a bit more difficult than I initially anticipated though, because the orbs aren't actors but seem to be movablestatics with scripts attached. I wanted to pick some more experienced modders brains to see what they thought was the most reasonable approach;A) Try making a new race and imitating the blue orbs (somehow) - I figured this might fail because actors and races behave much differently then the orbs doB) Strip down the scripts and build one up from scratch and try making it imitate a follower/npc - The problem I had with this is I don't know how much you can exactly do Any thoughts would sure be appreciated. Deleted1308005User
Tried to do something similar myself. > Make custom spell that summons those orbs > Attach to Yngol's Helmet> Buff up the enchantment of the Helmet So it'd feel like "cursed". Anyway, I was able to figure out: (IF I correctly remember)Those orbs were either light sources or Movable statics. It was probably MS as I thought it was really weird when I tinkered with them. Those lose their Ai/ the way they act, if added anywhere else than Yngol's Barrow. (Added some to Dragonsreach, those just moved forward couple of meters and stopped)I think that Yngol's Barrow has many "points of interests" and activators for these ghosts. Those will bounce from point to another, and at certain activator they start following player and so on. Anyway! I think it might require a bit of skill with mesh-editing tools to achieve that.I mean, wisp is pretty much perfect, if someone could remove the "Tail" from it. And aye, NPC's act in much different way than those orbs do, but it should be possible to make passive "follower", that doesn't attack or so, maybe runs away when enemies approach and so on. Also, another chance would be to make "armor" that has orbs floating around the player.Similar to what was done with "The Keepers Tower".
Eckss
I'm not sure off-hand, but have you looked at Wisps or Magic Anomalies? They're similar to those yngol orbs and I think they're Actors. If I'm right, just edit one of them to look like the Orbs and use that as your new follower race.

Hmm, do you think it would be possible to rescript one to follow the player anywhere and then just have a ring or something with a magic effect that summons it (and keeps it following you between loading loading screens)? Also how do you even open papyrus scripts in the CK anyways?
