kasparv
Hey guys, I have installed Skyrim special edition and have been trying to catch up to the way mods work now. I've looked at some guides (including the beginner and troubleshooting one here) In one sentence my problem is this: I don’t think my Skyrim looks as good as it should/I would want it to. But because I’m a relative newbie, I don’t know where the problem lies (textures, enb or anything else). I was wondering if someone could help me out. I feel like somehow the textures are not that hi-res (but i'm not sure if that's it), the game looks not at all what I see when I look op those graphical mods Screenshots: https://share.getcloudapp.com/Blu5NxB1 https://share.getcloudapp.com/YEuodOAO https://share.getcloudapp.com/qGuNDJob I use: ⦠Vortex to install the mods ⦠LOOT to do the boot order ⦠SSEedit to clean up ⦠Re-enhanced ENB with the cathedral ENB preset ⦠DonDyLod Modwatch: https://modwat.ch/u/kasparv/plugins Computer specs: ⦠i5-4670K (3,4 GHz) ⦠16 GB DDR 4 ⦠GTX 970 Is it evident (from my config or the screenshots) where this “problem” may lie? I’m willing to tinker and experiment myself, but because I’m not sure where the root is, I don’t really know where to start. Thanks in advance and let me know if you need any other info! Algabar
TBH,I don't think your pictures look that bad. There's quite a strong blue tint in all of them. In the last picture, the mountains in the background look a bit strange. I'd say this could be "Majestic Mountains". Other than that, I think it's okay.Maybe it would be a good idea to tell us what exactly bothers you? Your load order also looks okay. I didn't see anything obviously wrong. OFC I can't see from your load order which texture mods you have installed. Good texture replacers will help a lot. On the other hand what you have here doesn't look exactly bad IMHO. Visuals and graphics are highly subjective of course. If you're unhappy with the looks of your game, I'd start with changing two parameters:1. ENB preset2. Weather mod. These two vastly determine the overall look of your game. Besides that, they are easy to change. For testing ENBs or easily switching them around, I'd recommend using ENB manager. With a single click, you can change between different ENB presets. IMHO the ideal tool if you haven't found your favourite look yet. Personal opinion: While I like the concept of Cathedral weathers, I was somehow never really satisfied with its looks. Besides that there aren't too many "good" (very subjective term of course...) ENB presets to go along with it. IMHO "ReEngaged" is one of the best, but if you don't like it, you should get something else... My suggestion is to keep "Cathedral Weathers" for the moment and start testing different ENB presets. If you're still not happy, switch to a different Weather mod (e.g. Obsidian, Vivid Weathers) and test different ENBs again...
