Geonox
There are 2 ways you can edit the texture: First you have to download NifTexture to retexture a model. Try searching @ a search engine like google for: Download NifTexture orso. 1. recolor => =Duplicate the texture(s) and the model, give them another name than the original names.=just replace the colors of the texture with a drawing program. It's very simple. Save the texture when you have recolored everything you wanted. =Open NifTexture=with NifTexture open the duplicated model. Then you can assign new textures to the model. When your done, just save the model and import your new retextured model with tesc! 2. New texture => =Duplicate the texture(s) and the model, give them another name than the original names.=open the texture with a drawing program. Now you can edit the texture as much as you want. One thing! Some textures are build out of several small textures, or maps. Like the Hair Shirt, one part of the texture is for the chest and another part is made for the fur thing arround the neck. So you have to check that first. If your done with the texture save it.=Open NifTexture=with NifTexture open the duplicated model. Then you can assign new textures to the model. When your done, just save the model and import your new retextured model with tesc! Oh yeah one more thing! when you have imported it into the tesc, make sure that the texture is in the texture map and the model in the model map. And that the model is assigned, you have to do this in Tesc, to the correct bodypart. Hope this helps you a bit! If you have questions just ask! wsagarfield
Thx a lot man, this is helpin for sure. My biggest problem is that the textures can never be found (With all my previous mods) so this niftexture program seems sweet. I'll keep ya posted on the progress. ps. This Chitin armor is lookin sick so far! Ill post screens and a link to it when im done...
wsagarfield
Yeah Yeah i know, double post. but w/e.... I cant get the NEW_CHITIN.esp (not sure of the extension) to find the texture files... They are in the Texture folder... why are they not workin?? I used niftexture to point to them... arrrg. Will it auto change the textures on what i already have? Or do i have to player->additem and get a new one to see the change? EDIT: AHHHH!!!! I have the same textures in almost every possible folder in morrowind... i have put a copy in the /Textures folder, in the Textures/a folder in the Meshes folder in the Meshes/a folder in the main folder in the data files folder the only place left to put these things is on my desktop!!!! Why the heck arent they showing up in morrowind? NIFTEXTURE points to them, the .nif calls on them, the NEW_CHITIN.esm points to the proper .nif file... ahhh! What on earth is wrong!!!*starts sulking....* DOUBLE EDIT: SOLVEDI found the problem... *smaks self for stupidity* fixing now. Stay tuned for new armor style!!! Thx for the help all
