Mordarake
Started to have TESV.exe hang in control panel on exiting interior locations in Solitude, tracked down this thread that helped me stop it by setting affinity to core 0 and 1 only... http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/568346-skyrim-not-responding-during-loading-screens/ Problem is I use SKSE loader to start Skyrim and can't figure out where or how to change target path to set affinity (as outlined in post above) on use of my SKSE loader ; p Thanks in advance!! ianpatt
I've added a command line option to the loader for the next release (-affinity [mask]) that lets you set the process affinity. Pass it a bitmask of the processors you want to use (for example "-affinity 3" to use cores 0 and 1, "-affinity 0x33" to use cores 0, 2, 4, and 6). Only option till then is struggling to set it before loading saved game with control panel I guess? Will need to start playing Skyrim in windowed mode to avoid Window's wonky ALT TAB behaviors with full screen then ; p Anyone have ideas on why Multi-core processors need to be limited to avoid lock ups? ianpatt
I think setting the affinity of skse_loader the same way you were for TESV will propagate to child processes as well, but I haven't checked.
