firsTraveler
I'm getting a new PC and will either give my old one to a friend or donate it. Other than taking the old drive out and hitting it repeatedly with a sledge, how can I be sure that ALL my software and data has been irrevocably deleted? The drive is a SSD and I'm running Windows 7 - 64bit. Thank you
Rennn
Why not hit it with a hammer? Either that or stick it as a second drive in your new pc.Seems to be the safest way.As far as I know, any data is recoverable, even deleted data. It just depends on whether or not someone wants to spend a few thousand dollars to recover it. Edited January 30, 2013 by Rennn
ripple
I am curious how this is related to Skyrim (this being 'Skyrim Technical Support'). What mod(s) would be so illicit that such drastic measures might be required to expunge all evidence that you had, at one point, installed it on your SSD? (where did that 'rub chin' emoticon go...?) ripple
That's why I posted "way OT". Uh, ok. But why didn't you just post it in the appropriate 'hardware discussion' forum? (really need that rub chin emoticon now...). Edited January 31, 2013 by ripple
