Rennn Posted January 30, 2013 Share Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) I keep trying a few ENBs, but lately I'm tired of tweaking them endlessly when RCRN and a few other lighting mods look arguably better. However, I still miss the ssao and shadow filtering from ENB presets, so I'm trying to install one more. I've run into the same problem I have every time, however. My pc simply can't run good looking ENBs in any capacity. I keep 50-60fps on ultra with many mods. I keep 60-80 fps on vanilla ultra. As soon as I install any ENB mod, even if most of the effects are disabled, my framerate drops to the twenties and won't budge. Once I got it up to 30, using only bloom. I don't think this is typical. The authors of many of these presets have rigs weaker than mine, and it's confusing. Apparently someone with a GTX 260 and a Core 2 Duo is capable of running the Jasmin ENB with a framerate above 30. This story repeats every single time I message someone about it. Someone with an inferior rig can make an ENB preset look better and run much better, somehow. What's going on? My rig certainly isn't very strong, but I should at least be able to run an ENB just for the shadow filter. As soon as I turned on an ENB with only the detailed shadows, however, my framerate dove from ~50 to ~25. This doesn't really make sense. :(I've tried on vanilla installs as well, and it doesn't make a difference. My framerate decreases by 30 as soon as I use any ENB.
