Zenkon13
Can someone one help me on a retexture for the boxing gloves? For weeks, I've been trying to finish and use this mod in-game, but my textures are never applied onto the gloves in 1st person or 3rd person... I'm not sure on what else to do to get these retexture files on the boxing gloves. Can someone please help me out on this?
Xaranth
Can you explain in more detail the procedure you're using to get your texture on the weapon? Are you using a plugin with an override and a texture set, are you replacing the BG textures in the data folder, what?
Zenkon13
1. I copy the texture files and the meshes of the selected weapon (in this case, the boxing gloves) by using FOMM. 2. I take a copy of those texture files and modify them in Abode Photoshop CS6 (with the NVIDIA dds Plugin installed.) 3. After Photoshop, I then take the modified texture file of the boxing glove, and place it into the Data/textures/zk13/weapons/boxinggloves folder. (And I do the same thing for the meshes, Data/meshes/zk13/weapons/boxinggloves) 4. Then I open NifSkope and apply the textures to the mesh, and then save my work. 5. I copy the meshes & textures and then put them into the New Vegas game folder. (Data/textures/zk13/weapons/boxinggloves) 6. In the GECK, I make a copy of the regular boxing glove and rename it to: Red Boxing Gloves, re-edit the stats and info a bit. 7. While modifying my red boxing gloves, I go to the "Art and Sound" and under the 'Model' box I then apply the 'red boxing glove' mesh to the Model and the World Models. 8. I then save my mod on GECK and switch to play the game. 9. When I equip my red boxing gloves they come out as the regular boxing gloves that are found in-game. 10. I go back the the GECK and try to correct any mistakes, but I never find anything wrong about the mesh or textures for the red boxing gloves. I've done so many re-textured weapons before, so I know if I missed a step; and I know that I didn't mess up on this re-textured weapon. My guess it's because it's a weapon that's apply to both of the player's hands. But I don't know what to do from there... * ^*
Xaranth
Did you make a new 1stPerson static model and point the 1stPerson model at that static?
Zenkon13
Yes, I created a 1stPerson static model as you said and tested in-game only to get this so far... I'm not sure if I may have follows your instructions correctly. * ^*
Zenkon13
Here's the in-game image of the highlighted Pipboy 3000 with a bit of the Red Boxing Gloves to the right side of the image. I couldn't upload a direct visual of the gloves due to image size exceeding over the image limit.
Xaranth
*smacks forehead.* It's the armourList. You need to make a new one and populate it with your model. ArmourList on a weapon is a lot like Biped Model List on an armour; it adds more models to the form. I suspect that's where you need to be working. Zenkon13
Ok, I've made the ARMA bipedal model for both the left & right boxing gloves. What do I do from there?
Xaranth
Make a new FormList, add your ARMA pieces to it, and under the art and sound tab, select your FLST in the Armour List dropdown box
Zenkon13
That did it! It's finally showing my customized boxing glove texture in-game!! I never knew I had to make a new FormList for my red boxing gloves texture to be applied. Thank you so much, Xaranth!! =D
