Suilebhain
I am an Oblivon noob and am having problems with my game. First off, I cannot get the main quest to activate if I start out in the prison. No one shows up to let me out. Second, some NPCs have black shiny eyes with no pupils. Third, some are missing clothes AND the body underneath. There is also a weird effect I am getting where my character's POV is very jumpy in small places, making it nearly impossible to target anything. I loaded a ton of mods so I am not sure which ones might be causing this. Wrye Bash doesn't show any major problems except some stuff where companion mods seem to be looking for an older version of CM_Partners.
bben46
First, if you are using a modded race, there is no dialogue with the other prisoner to trigger the guards coming. There are 2 mods that take care of this one is the unofficial oblivion patch. It's been so long since I used it I can't remember what it was, but it's still available. The UOP (unoficial oblivion patch) is available here http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5296. That should get you out of prison. Black eyes or any weird eye problem is usually caused by having more than one beauty type mod, or a race mod that changes the eyes along with a beauty mod Missing body parts is a mis installed mesh file. It can usually be fixed by reinstalling the mod that put that piece of clothing or armor in the game. Or by changing the load order to load it after something else that is interfering. I don't recommend loading in a bunch of mods all at once because of what you are seeing. The time you think you are saving by loading them all at once is wasted by the troubleshooting of the problems created. I recommend using OBMM and disabling most of your mods and reinstalling them one at a time to find which ones are causing the problems. The UOP will fix a lot of small bugs in the game. There is also a Unofficial patch for Shivering Isles if you have that too. The UOP should be loaded high in your load order, close to the first .esm file. The SI patch should be loaded right after SI.
Suilebhain
Oddly, I do not have a separate .esm for SI. When I install SI, it just creates and installs a new Oblivion.esm. I do have the mod that is supposed to correct the custom race issue. Maybe it needs to load higher as well. I'll try the other stuff, though. Thanks.
