KiraHorse
I am looking for someone that is interested in making a mod that I think would get a lot of use in the game of Skyrim. Here is my idea: 1. Add 8 new breeds of dogs to the world, each one "native" to a different hold. - Irish Wolfhound (the default dog) would be native to The Reach. - St. Bernard would be native to Winterhold. - Akita would be native to Eastmarch. - Siberian Husky would be native to The Pale. - Bullmastiff would be native to Falkreath. - Rottweiler would be native to Hjaalmarch. - Border Collie would be native to Whiterun. - German Shepherd would be native to Haafingar. - Doberman Pinscher would be native to The Rift. 2. Add a "store" somewhere in each hold capital that would sell these dogs to the player. 3. Make the dogs animal followers, essential, and able to send to your home (wherever that might be at that moment). 4. Would like an option to name the dog when purchased, but that is not required. 5. Open to any other ideas or suggestions. I really think it would be great to see this put into action and offered as a mod for anyone who might wish to use it!I would do it myself, but I just can't figure out how to retexture the dogs to look like what I want them to look like. Anyone willing to take this up?
Alluistras
5. Open to any other ideas or suggestions. Don't mind if I do. I don't care for the humanoid followers, so I usually have an animal with me at all times. I've tried quite a few mods for animal companions. BFF, Tamed beasts, Cerberos... nothing is quite up to snuff, though BFF is pretty close with all of its options. Different breeds of dogs would just be sweet. 1. Stealth options. A sneak animation would be especially neat. More importantly though, if the dog could at least take my crouching down as a sign to shut the heck up and either stop moving (lie down and stay, not rush forward and draw attention) or activate a sneak of its own. I dunno.. maybe something like casting Muffle on itself when I sneak, not attacking until I do. Something. I don't know how possible this is. I do know it's possible for them to cast spells on themselves. BFF does this and it's a great mod, but I don't care much for the breed of dog. Anyway, It's something that would be uber helpful for sneaky types. It's the main problem I have with animal companions. 2. Commands for it that don't involve talking to it. Again, I don't know how hard that would be, just throwing it out there. You know things like fetch, a kill command, stay, and stop attacking. I dunno if you could use shout commands for this, but that would be ideal. 3. Personality customization. 4. Options to follow close, not so close, and really far back. 5. Force pushed outta the way when needed, but at a greater distance. 6. Don't make them too big. I know big animals look cool, but let's be honest... Taking them into a dungeon is just that much more difficult with a big animal. 7. And then I dunno how realistic it would be to have the option for the dog to not enter buildings. They usually make a mess of the place... and get in the way. A well trained dog would stay outside when told, imo. The stay command could take care of this. KiraHorse
Yes, the Sneaking option would be SWEET! I am almost exclusively a sneaky type character whenever I play and like you, I like to have an animal with me at all times. The barking is annoying and the fact that the dog will give you away when you're trying to hide is also annoying. I would love it if this was possible. Other commands for it would be really nice, too. Especially the "stop attacking" one. Really good ideas! Keep them coming :) Hopefully we can find someone that is able to help us out with this.
