TyburnKetch
So, I have been putting this off for a long time as I think it will be a pain and I am not sure how to go about it. The exterior of my player home would be seen, in full (there are a huge amount of pieces, all made by hand) from within a city. My thought was to highlight and copy every bulky relevant piece from the render window in one go, move to the city world and then go ahead a paste what I had copied into the relevant position. I then imagine I will spend a lot of time repositioning etc. My question though: is it really necessary to have full detail items moved from one location to another? My preference would be not to have this, but I have no idea how to make the LOD a lot less. I was also planning on adding a few more clouds (the home is high up a mountain) to mask the detail and hide the fact that the visual of the exterior will not be identical to the actual exterior (as seen when outside the city). I have not tested, or even used the hugely popular mod open cities yet but my guess is that, as it is open, my home will be visible from within the city. My plan is to recommend users to use the mod for the FULL experience of my mod (I am hoping it goes both ways - as in when you are in the exterior of the home you will see the city as open when you look down, rather than the model used to simulate the city - untested but that is my hope) However, at this stage (I will obviously run tests) I am also unsure of how building a view of the exterior from within the city will interact with open cities. My hope is that this view will just not load and the REAL exterior of my home will show. Any thoughts on this matter, the most effective way of going about it, would as always, be much appreciated.
