Textures

Ok so I have been trying to do some modding like I did with Oblivion. As well as down lode mods created by the community, again just like I did in Oblivion. However it seems like no matter what I do I cant get the textures to show! I get the models to show fine, but there covered in strange textures that shift and change as I move around the game world. If anyone knows how to fix this can you pleas let me know, I have some ideas for mods I want to do, but till I can get passed this issue I cant move forward.

P.S. I also don't think my game is recognizing any of the custom egm files I have!

First, make sure the textures are installed properly (redownload and reinstall textures)

Secondly, ensure that bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 is in your Fallout ini (located in Documents/My Games/Fallout 3). The default value is 0.

Third, I must be more tired than I thought, what exactly is an Egm file? I've never run across these in either Oblivion or Fallout 3 modding.

Fourth, if all else fails you can back up your mods and saved games and reinstall Fallout 3.

I too, am getting this problem. I'm sure my bInvalidateOlderFiles is 1, this happened in my last game too (I reinstalled it also) and the problem still exists.

So confused right now :wallbash: . Please help us!

EDIT: Fixed! I now get textures, As Khet said; my problem was the bInvalidateOlderFiles wasn't modified to 1 in the "MY GAMES" folder. Make sure your editing "FALLOUT".ini in that folder instead of the one in the Program Files.

This knowledge needs to be captured somewhere easy to find!
