See posts for which you were given Kudos

This may sound like a weird request but on previous forums I have frequented they operated reputation systems similar to the Kudos system employed by the Nexus. One key difference however was that on other forums I have generally been able to see for which posts/topics I have been given reputation (though obviously not by whom I was given it). I have looked (please do tell me if I am blind) but am unable to find such a system on the nexus forums.

 

Kudos/Reputation is a fairly empty metric - I understand that there might be no interest or perceived need for a change here - however in the past I have used such systems to judge the general reception of tutorials, guides or opinion pieces I posted (allowing me to see what did and didn't work with regards to format and/or content) and would appreciate the ability to do the same here...

The Kudos system will be of no use to you for what you're after here.

 

A post doesn't have a link you can give Kudos with, only the poster's avatar on the left has. Kudos are given to the user, not to posts, nor is any information transfered or stored which Kudos link or button one pressed, and there are quite some far away from any posts and such as well.

 

Additionally Kudos can only be given once or taken away. You cannot give an author the posts of which you find helpful a Kudos for every post. Try it and the system will tell you right at the 2nd attempt already that you did give your Kudos to this member already and cannot do so again. You're given the option to take your Kudos away from the user, but that's surely not what you intended when you wanted to give him/her more.

Apologies - after posting I did some more research and discovered that Kudos does indeed function as you say. I guess that it is actually more distinct from other reputation systems than I first thought - thanks for the clarification! Kudos ;)

The key is simply Kudos isn't a reputation system. There "was" a reputation system in place in the past, just like you know it with thumbs-up and thumbs-down buttons to rep-up or -down a single post, but it had to be removed due to being more abused than being of worth for most.

 

Down-repping comments was used for trolling and any thumbs-up became meaningless against a wall of red thumbs-down given without reason or justified cause. Readers were clueless why there was a red thumb or a green thumb or got confused over it as much as erroneously assuming there's an issue with the mod or the author. It lost any use it ever had in the past and as such it was demanded to be removed by a majority decision.
