Why do I sometimes have to reinstall mods?

Today I noticed my arrows were depleting. This shouldn't happen because I use Infinite Ammo: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/32253

I reinstalled the mod and it still wasn't working. Next, I reinstalled the dependencies which are;

DLL Plugin Loader;

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10546

Netscript Framework;

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/36077

After reinstalling those everything worked again.

^^Things like this happen every-so-often where I have to reinstall a mod to get it to work again.

I've run windows diagnostics and everything is fine. I verified the SSE files and they were fine too. All plugins are clean. No wild edits. So... Why does it happen?

I'm not sure, but I suspect that some reference gets "lost" in your save file, or a script has an unhandled exception in its code that causes it to stop working (but doesn't bring the game down) or it was somehow broken or overridden by some other mod (I lean towards the former, ie coding that missed a potential error condition).

I'm experiencing that with certain respawn tasks...a cow that doesn't produce milk anymore (It stops after delivering the first "harvest" and never produces again, consistently, across a half dozen new games) , some fixed location, pre-populated veggie/fruit/floral plots (fixed plots provided by mod author) on a player home property that don't respawn once picked, animals (wolves, cats, bear, etc) not re-spawning in the Bruma addon, caves just plain not respawning unless a new side quest is generated that includes the location, etc.

So I'd guess that reinstalling resets the references and/or clears any active break in a mod-related function(s).
