Quest.pex incompatibility?

I have two different mods trying to install a quest.pex file to data/scripts/. I'm not sure which mod the original goes to. Could I simply put the new mod's scripts in a new folder inside /scripts/, or rename the quest.pex files?

It's not a good idea to edit the quest.pex at all. SKSE does it, a mod shouldn't. If I were you, I wouldn't install the mod. Maybe the script was included accidentally into the mod. Then it wouldn't be necessary to install it anyways. Hm no, renaming or moving the script will not work.

The Quest script is a main script of Skyrim. It handles quest related functions and events.

What are the mods in question? I would like to take a look at it.

Er, I can send you the file, as I don't rightfully know where it came from.

Additionally, I don't think my current quest.pex is original, either, and I don't know which mod it came from.

You don't even remember the name of the mod? Well, you could attach the file to this thread. Not the whole mod, just the quest.pex, and if there's a quest.psc, please include it as well.

The original quest script is safely stored in 'Skyrim - Misc.bsa'. If you installed SKSE the file in your scripts folder is most likely from this.

The name of the mod is "skyrim.rar". Does that help?

It says I can't upload it. I've left a comment on your profile with the link.
