juniorff
I am trying to replace Dark Brotherhood armor with a standalone armor I downloaded from nexus. I can replace the meshes no problem and they load fine (textureless) but I cannot find the vanilla armor textures at all. The only mod that effect the DB armor would be cbbe but I couldnt find the textures in there either (or I was blind). Any help would be amazing! Hanaisse
Data\Textures\Armor\DBArmor is the vanilla location for the texture files, however a standalone armor may place it somewhere else. Why not just install the armor mod through your mod manager? It would place the files where they're supposed to go. If you're doing it manually you may have to create the file path in your game's Data folder.

I did install the standalone with vortex and its fine, I just wanted to make the standalone armor the DB default armor. Meshes are easy, change the name and replace the files, its the textures I cant find to replace those files. Sadly my mods have moved it somewhere else then that path. I was wondering if anyone else has run into this road block and knows a fix?
Hanaisse
If you installed the mod, the meshes should be able to find the textures if the texture path is pointing to a valid directory. Open the mesh in NifSkope and check the BSShaderTextureSet for the texture paths, then make sure the textures are in that path.
juniorff
Maybe Im doing things wrong? What I am doing is installing the standalone, going to the standalone meshes and textures coping them and moving to the default DB armor folders and renaming the files. I can do that with the meshes but the textures I cannot find to replace, are you saying, if I rename the file it should still try to find the standalone textures regardless of the file name? Or do I need to copy the standalone armor textures rename them and replace the DB textures?
