Best Enchantment for protection... Shield vs fortify armor vs fortify

Hello everyone, im to the point where im ready to make the best armor I can so far, and im a bit dumb founded on what does what exactly...

I made a whole set of shield in a past game, and I couldnt see any real difference in the armor rating or feel any difference that it was supposed to make. Right now im using a number of item with fortify skill (medium armor) on Indoril armor, and it boosts the armor rating which I assume gives you better protection...

Fortify Health looks good too...

I was looking at all the effects, and these three effects all seem to have the same cost on constant effect, so the ultimate question is, which of the three offers better protection, or at the least, staves off death the best/longest.

Also I was considering Restore health constant effect, which costs a profound amount more per point, but it could be worth it in the end of you can get enough of it together on your person...

So yeah, these are my thoughts, im trying to find the best way of making armor the best that it can be, if there is another option that I havent considered that might be better, please let me know im always looking for the best way of doing things.

Thanks in advance... =D

Personally I go with fortify strength on everything I can. Strength affects things like encumbrance. It can be game breaking and weapon breaking if you have too much strength. I rarely use fortify health because of some of the bugs associated with it, Restore Health is the way to go imho. Restore Health was a godsend for my Vampire. She can walk around all day in the sun and not lose any health. :P Edited by ReALty

Sad but true...

Strength to me is just for hauling crap around, at the same time I have the 'dogmeat pack quar' mod, so thats 1275 pounds that walk around and follow you everywhere... xD If not that then I have an amulet that gives me a little strength, but I really like sujama, or how ever its spelled, its like 30g and weights 3 pounds each but gives you +50 strength, so I carry a good 100 of those on my guar xD xD xD

The thing im looking for most is how to make myself more survivable with my armor, right now its all fortify medium armor, but I dont know how to calculate how effective it is at defense so im trying to figure out how effective everything is point by point... I didnt know fortify health had bugs with it, what kind of bugs are they?

I tried shield, but it didnt seem to do anything at all for me, elemental stuff is crap, restore health is freakin awesome, but what im worried about is that it would break the game to have to much of that on you all the time, plus, what are the biggest hits you can take, and can you survive long enough for restore health to do its work?

I guess what its just coming down to for me is fortify health, restore health, and maybe sanctuary, im actually getting a little burned out on this whole issue, I cant find the details im looking for on the web and almost no one is talking to me about so yeah... xD

For me personally, I have no problems with the armor rating for my character so I never made any enchanted item(s) to fortify my character's armor skills. Armor rating from the best armor I can get (like glass or ebony), is simply enough, IF no physical attack can touch my character. So I think to make enchanted equipment(s) that can give my character 100% Sanctuary.

Running around is exhausting, plus swinging sword and blocking attacks. So I think to make enchanted equipment that can restore my character fatigue. Up to 2 points per sec is usually enough.

Restore health potions and scrolls are just filling up my inventory, so I think to make enchanted equipment to restore my character health whenever needed.

Damaging attributes spells (including diseases) are annoying. But I don't need to make any enchanted items against them, since my Breton character uses Cuirass of the Savior's Hide, that makes her 100% immune to non elemental magics. Well, a bit of Reflect and Spell Absorption would help also

As for elemental magics, especially if they came from a very powerful enemies... Well, I have no choice but to arm my character with all spells, potions, and scrolls of Reflect, Spell Absorption, and elemental resistances :P
