securitywyrm
I got this idea from watching some 'dead space' gameplay, where enemies don't die after taking a certain amount of damage, but rather when you dismember them in a certain way. Now, super-mutants are supposed to be rediculously tough, but all you have to do is shoot them a lot and they die. Picture this You shoot a super mutant in the arm with your pistol, enough to blow his arm off! End of story, right? Wait.. he's still coming! He dropped his rifle but now he's got the bat and *WHACK* ow. You blow off the mutants legs with a missile launcher. Hah, that'll teach him. Next tar... *POP POP* He's still shooting at you from the ground! You blow off a mutant's head with a sniper rifle! HAH! Let's see him recov... is he flipping me off while falling down? HE IS! OMFG! You nail one with the FAT MAN. Bodies go flying everywhere. HAH! Time to get some loot. You walk up to loot and... he rolls over with a grenade! OH SH *quickload* I know this would require a lot of modeling work for animations such as crawling, limping with one leg, weapon adjustment to only use a one handed weapon... but I think this would make super-mutants the 'oh crap' without a balance adjustment. Tagaziel
They are mutated humans, not mutated dead bodies. They're still subject to all the limitations of a human body - including going into shock and losing conciousness due to blood loss resulting from dismemberment. sumyungai
Well... You give a human enough PCP and they'll do half those things. I think it would be pretty cool if they kept fighting without limbs for a while (would be best if bleeding was incorporated so they eventually died). Although, blowing their head off or feeding them a fatman should pretty much be an instant kill. Maybe the arms could flail around with the gun going off for a couple seconds sometimes though... davidzaccaro
Super Mutans...Should Be ¨The Most Feared Enemy¨ in the D.C Area. But Still i am Level 20 and i am like even with the Hunting Rifle Blowing the Crap out of them...for me there needs to be an Enemy Overhaul out there Even for the Feral Ghouls they need to be more resistant they are Iradiateted so they need to be tougher..but still the Super Muties they Need an Overhaul they are Lame when you are

Kabolte
Mods don't have to follow the lore to be a good mod, ya know
FrankManic
Generally speaking any mod that begins with 'Let's take this one game and port it into this other game' comes to no good. Though I was tempted to say "Every time you propose turning one game into another game Garry Gygax curses your dice roles from heaven."
PsyckoSama
Making them scary is simple... just give them good weapons. In Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 the ONLY weapons super mutants used were energy and heavy weapons. A couple of mutants with hunting rifles, another with a sledge hammer, and maybe a brute with an assault rifle is pretty lame... now give the same mutants two mini-guns, a flamer, and a missile launcher. Now they're a hell of a lot scarier and even more true to the setting than the Yellow Orcs that Beth is trying to pass off as Mutants.
