falloutperson416
I try to load Dawnguard in the Creation Kit, and I get a message that says Assert File: C:\_Skyrim\Code\TESV\TESShared\misc\BGSLocalizedString,cpp Line: 2860LOCALIZATION: Error opening or reading strings file. I can then abort, retry, or ignore. All 3 lead to crashing of ck. Any ideas? Thanks
Ithlia
You need to fix one of your ini.s Edit SkyrimEditor.ini in the main Skyrim folder and find the value SResourceArchiveList2. Add Dawnguard.bsa and/or HearthFires.bsa to the list of files (e.g., SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa, Dawnguard.bsa). There is another fix if you wish to load Dawnguard and Hearthfire at the same time. It needs to be added bAllowMultipleMasterFiles=1 to the [General] Section in skyrimeditor.ini file to load up more than one masterfile add the bAllowMultipleMasterFiles=1 at the end of General section
cscottydont
you can google it. You'll find a bunch of things telling you to mod the SkyrimEditor.iniNow all the links I found told me to edit only 1 of the archive list lines but I had to edit 2 before I could load dawnguard. (you can do a ctrl +f to search for the section title lines)lines you need to edit: in the [GENERAL] section add this line ballowmultiplemasterloads=1 In the [ARCHIVE] section add , Dawnguard.bsa (don't forget the comma) to the lists on these lines SArchiveListSResourceArchiveList2 then you can save and open up dawngaurd in the ck. you'll still have to click "yes to all" on some errors but the ck won't crash. Hannibalektr
Actually this worked for me, I think the above may actually cause problems as I just went through a ton using it. Then re-installed the CK and used this to fix the error: Add Dawnguard.bsa to SkyrimEditor.ini[Archive]SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa, Dawnguard.bsa PS So, anyone who upgrades to Dawnguard gets ripped out of using the CK for doing so? Wow, thats the way to hold on to your customers eh? Edited March 3, 2013 by Hannibalektr
