CTD on loading screen

I played this game for several hours just the other day and everything was fine, today I loaded it up and if crashed on the load screen. No changes or mods added since my last play, and I can't load earlier saves either. I have zero clue as to what is happening.

I don't see anything obviously wrong in your load order. It's hard to say what exactly happens here.

 

I had a similar problem some time ago. In my case it looks like the culprit was AdditemMenu. Don't want to blame this great mod or anything. Just saying because you got it in your load order, too.

 

In my case, updating to SKSE 2.0.19 and the latest version of AdditemMenu solved the issue. The "problematic" save games were the ones made with SKSE 2.0.17 or 2.0.18 and AdditemMenu 1.11.

 

EDIT: IF AdditemMenu really is the problem, you might have to create a so-called "clean save" (although in reality there is no such thing) to get things up and running again:

 

1. Uninstall AdditemMenu.

2. Load a game. Then save (if possible in an interior location).

3. Load this save game you just created. Now save again.

4. Re-install AdditemMenu.

5. Play. The search options and spells from AdditemMenu are gone now, but you should be able to craft the "AdditemMenu pack" at a forge (or get it via console).
