ArchAngelAlien
There is nothing there. I have nothing over the line of the overwrite line. : http://i.imgur.com/1ZW2wUE.png Edited February 18, 2013 by ArchAngelAlien
ripple
No no, double click on 'overwrite' and it will open up the 'overwrite' folder under '../ModOrganizer/' This is where MO sticks some files that have been modified that would normally go into the default game data folder (so it can keep your game data folder clean). ArchAngelAlien
Oh okay. Um, I am still working on ReProccer. Probably won't be a while until I can play and they make a fix for ReProccer. So till then I am just learning MO and playing other games. I noticed this: : http://i.imgur.com/NWwRgzW.png Is this bad? ripple
Several versions ago, MO would basically move plugins into the 'overwrite' folder if they are modified by any programs you run in MO, including TES5Edit (e.g. cleaning). This was annoying and some users complained (i.e. me), so now MO only does that for things like generated patches (e.g. ReProccer and Bashed Patch). However, sometimes it still doesn't work as intended. I am sure Tannin is working on it but given the range of things he has to address, this probably isn't 'high priority.' You can manually move the plugins back to their 'normal locations' just using Windows Explorer. For example, I'd move the official DLC esm's back to the default game data folder from 'ModOrganizer/Overwrite/' (because that's where they are suppose to be, since they are 'default game resources'), and any mod plugins you find back to their installation folder (so that when you uninstall those mods, the plugin won't be left behind in the 'overwrite' folder). You can find the installed mods folders under '.../ModOrganizer/mods/' Just leave the dynamically generated patches like Bashed Patch and ReProccer in the overwrite folder. ArchAngelAlien
Wait, so this is bad? Why did it overwrite my files? Are these files being used? I don't understand. So since they are red they are not being used? What effect does this game on the game?
ripple
It's not 'bad', just annoying because plugins moved into the 'overwrite' folder won't be automatically uninstalled when you uninstall the mod packages they are associated with. It makes no difference as far as the 'virtual data folder' is concerned. You can post a screenshot of your overwrite folder contents and I'll let you know what you should move and not move. ArchAngelAlien
Ah I see it. I don't understand where the Esms for the official patches go, as the mods folder doesn't seem to list the official patches? http://i.imgur.com/SOHcmba.png
ripple
- the CoS + WiC patch, I think is attached to WiC? So if you can't find a installed mod folder for that patch, move it into the WiC installed folder - Babette.esp....I think that's 'Babette's Feast'? *You can also open up the mod archives to double check the mod package association. - all the esm files are default game resources, so move the DLC esm and the update.esm back to the default game data folder. They probably got moved into the overwrite folder when you cleaned them in TES5Edit. - WTF.esp would go into WTF's installed mod folder. The rest you can leave in the 'overwrite' folder. But where is your Bashed Patch?
ArchAngelAlien
I don't see a default game folder for my esms. Do you mean back into the main game folder in steam for Skyrim? I have not made a bashed patch yet because ReProccer still isn't worrking. I am not able to play and never finished my load due to ReProccer halting my process just like I predicted. So now I am waiting for a fix before I can go any further. The game will load just fine, but the fact that I know I have weapons missing animations and sounds make me worry that I will encounter CTDs along the way and blame it on mods and have to rebuilt my entire load order, just to experience the same problem after a few days of rebuilding. The funny thing is, nobody on their page complains about this, from what I can tell. I think alot of people just patch and play, and don't run it through TES5Edit. TES5Edit shows many errors for weapons that ReProccer altered in a way that actually made them damaged. I wonder how many people realize this. As the damage weapons are apart of the official game DLC for crossbows. The Refined silver weapons? No idea where those are from. I will move these folders around but I am not sure if you want the main esms actually BACK in the MAIN Skyrim folder. Because MO doesn't have a data folder outside the organizer that I can see,
ripple
By 'default game data folder', I mean the data folder for the game (under '/steam/...' or if you installed it under a custom directory). If you don't have those esm's back in the default game data folder, you actually can't launch the game without MO. You'll need to rebuild your compatibility patches constantly, basically every time you install/uninstall a mod, or even update a mod, so you don't have to wait for the ReProccer problem to get resolved to get a Bashed Patch running. These things will all have to be rebuilt anyway once you finalize your load order. Edited February 18, 2013 by ripple
