ripple
Other than the ENB lighting enhancement, it just looks the same to me  It looks amazing, don't get me wrong, but I am more of a 'substance over visuals' kind of person. What disappointed me about Skyrim wasn't the graphics, or even the skimped features like no dual sheaths or the non-interactive wifey, but the dumbed down storyline. The high king is dead, the land is on the brink of civil war. Dragons are returning and don't give a crap about the petty politics of the land and seem intend on wiping out every Nord settlement in Skyrim. It's a good 'premise' for an intriguing plot, but Bethesda never delivers (or maybe they were trying to deliver something for the 'Twilight' audience...). They just don't know how to tell a story. All the NPCs are one dimensional quest dispenser machines that sends the player character on an endless series of 'fetch that, kill hither quests.' Rather than being scheming Machiavellian power brokers and manipulators, the Jarls all come across as incompetent morons. What could have been Skyrim's version of 'Game of Thrones' turns into an aimless romp of wildlife hunting and bandit carnage. But I digress.... But your texture mods, you really need to trim. It occurred to me, looking at the screen shot of the conflicting texture files, that one possible reason why they might be causing you issues is because one of the 'replacer' mods you are using may have modified some default game meshes, and requires the modified default game textures packaged with that mod. So when you 'overwrite' the textures with another default game texture replacer, it causes issues. Now, this is pure speculation because I don't use those texture mods and have no idea if they do any of the things I suspect some of them are doing. But it's something to consider. I know that in my own setup, I use the flaming mesh/texture replacer for the nightmare horse made by AlienSlof. If I load a hi-res texture replacer that replaces the textures for the nightmare, and load it after AlienSlof's mesh/texture replacer, it causes issues because her texture was designed for the flaming mesh while the other texture was not. ArchAngelAlien
Yeah I agree. I can't comment on the story, because well.. I have not seen it yet. Still looking forward to it anyways. Was testing out SkyRE (Have not run ReProccer yet) and all seems to well. I got a random CTD outside BleakFalls Barrow, so I turned off the 2k HD mods and didn't experience another one. Also got a CTD outside Whiterun yesterday, so I think my texture mods are having some issues. I turned off the 2k mods, and convinced myself I cannot see a difference anyways. I need to lose this mentality of holding onto things that is preventing me from enjoy the game, and just trim up and start playing. I went with a custom skeleton for RR-R - With Chesko's Quivers (From Frostfall) And Skyrim Weapon Positions. I don't think this runs any scripts ( Could be wrong ) and it occured to me when I am fully decked out in furs and leathers with my bulky backpacks from Frostfall and WIC + Cloaks, I won't have much a use for dual wielding anyways. I am wondering if SWP is compatible with all weapons? SInce it only alters the default locations of those weapons? All I really have left to do is trim up some stuff, and get ReProccer functioning ( Lol, not looking forward to that. ) And then I can present you with my BOSS log and list of installed mods and get my ESP and overwrite order pristine and perhaps enjoy the game. Oh! I would also like to setup Automatic Varients, UPS should be here any moment to deliver me my new cards, and I am sure I can handle it. =)
ripple
If you have 'Interesting NPCs', you'll see the difference in the quality of writing for the dialogue. Bethesda should have hired a professional writer. That's what BioWare does (and is why Fallout:NV's story is a notch better than the hokey 'save daddy' story of Fallout 3), and is why their games always have actual narratives and NPC companions with extensive quests, personality, interactions, and some kind of relationship system to reflect the impact from the choices your character make (whereas in Skyrim, your character's choices never really make a difference to the outcome of the story).Go ahead and download some AV packages if you haven't. Don't install all of them right away though. Just start with the ones from the the AV mod page (I think there's like 4 of them). Set up the AV .jar file as an executable in MO, but Install AV externally like all utilities. You can install the packages through MO like regular mods. When you launch AV, it should scan the 'virtual data folder' and detect the AV packages, and you can test to see if you can successfully build an AV patch. Once you do that, I'll go into details about how you can test in game whether AV is working or not.Keep in mind also that AV packages are by different authors and thus of 'varying quality', so check the screenshots and be a bit selective. I think I downloaded something like 20 of them and tested them all, but kept like 16 packages or so. One was actually sort of buggy but I can't recall exactly what was wrong with it or which one it was....the skeleton variants one, I think? Don't remember the name of the author... fiewiel
Instead of overwriting a ton of texture files you can use this:http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/20801Im using it, works very well and Im maybe overwriting 3 files in my whole mod load. You do have to invest some time before everything works. ArchAngelAlien
Nice I will give that a look over Fiewiel and try it out. Also will work on the AV, Just got my new video cards installed and doing some benchmarking to see if they are stable and all is well. I tried those new 13.2 beta drivers, and I am getting about 133 FPS with all my texture mods in Skyrim. lol. Makes me want to use Sharpshooter's ENB again. ArchAngelAlien
Wow, when I disable Vsync, everything goes out of Sync in game. I ran vanilla Skyrim with no mods outside MO, and when I look around the horse carriages fly around and fall over. It's amusing to watch, but I don't think disabling Vsync is a good idea. o _o

Sigurd44
Same problem here, but it's not a local problem, like CTDs only in aspecial area. I got dozens and dozens of CTDs since I downloaded Dragonborn, the only pattern I found was that the CTDs occurred most likely if I attempted to fast travel with lots of followers. As more followers as more CTDs occured and if I was that lucky that the fast travel succeeded I got sometimes violet or black texture grafic bugs. This already happened in the "old" Skyrim, no need to travel to Solstheim at all to make this experience. CTDs were dependant on how much textures/grafics were to load at the fast travel target (loads of trees and grass for example, fast travelling to somewhere near Falkreath or Riften was just a pain...)I did the same as always, I deinstalled all mods, parked my toon in an interior cell, created a clean save and installed mod per mod anew and tested for CTDs.All I can say so far is, it's not a mod problem, at least for me. I downloaded the new Dragonborn HD pack and maybe this was the bit needed to get over the top concerning the stableness of my system, grafic settings and .initweaks.I played Skyrim with higher than ultra values, tons of high rez mods and loads of .initweaks.The most stressing adjustments-playing with 2 x 670 GTX SLI (4 GB VRAM...and yes, I know VRAM isn't doubled by SLI mode, one card has 4 GB VRAM) but on 2560 x 1440 resolution (this resolution makes a big difference, but if you ever played Skyrim with loads of high rez texture mods at this resolution, you never want back, never, it's a dream)-uGridtoLoad 7/64-AF x 16-AA x 8-Transparency AA x 8-Ambient Occlusion On and on high quality lvl-triple FXAA (Skyrim's own, RCRNv36 FXAA and Nvidia FXAA)-alone my mountains and rocks have 8k rez textures, NPCs 4k (CBBE)I downgraded uGridtoLoad 7 to uGridtoLoad 5 and decreased some other values (treeload from 100.000 to 75.000, LoDs from 20 to 15, decreased DecalsperFrame, SkinnedDecalsperFrame and DecalLifetime and maxParticles from 1000 to 750) and kept the grafic card settings and my mods and now I will get a CTD here and there, but maybe one per hour and no need to load a game thrice for one fast travel as before. I deinstalled SFOSummer Edition and changed to the normal edition, too.I have no idea what Dragonborn did, but it increased system pressure, defintely....and to be honest, there must be some sloppy coding within Dragonborn...I expect some more performance for my machine (i7 2600K, 2 x Asus 670 GTX SLI, 16 GB 1600 DDR3 RAM, 256 GB SSD), really... My suspects number one are scripts that came along with Dragonborn, I really think that some of them aren't running smoothly and therefore claim performance. Now I am able to play again and I am able to keep the "real important" settings (that's not the .initweaks, the texture mods in combination with your grafic card settings make your Skyrim shine). ArchAngelAlien
Been a bit busy configuring my new video cards in crossfire. Apparently I needed to disable some registry keys to have the sensors kick in for my monitoring gadget. I guess it shuts down the other card when it's not running, but screws with the sensors. All I have left to do is run ReProccer and check to see if I have any weapon errors. Once I get that straightened out I will do a final look over my mods and trim anything I can live without and post my entire build/load order for Ripple to look at. Just been busy atm getting these video cards stable, and making sure they work correctly, ect. =)
ripple
Trim heavily! Remember that it is far easier to add mods later than it is to remove mods. Moreover, if you add mods (ideally one at a time) later, and encounter more frequent CTDs whereas previously your game was quite stable, you would know immediately which mod was the culprit, whereas if you install too many mods all at once, and encounter frequent CTDs, you have to spend hours, days, even weeks trying to hunt down the culprit(s).
