If you play with Steam offline, you will avoid getting the patch entirely until you decide to go online to get it.

Alternatively, you can open up Skyrim's properties in Steam, go to the Updates tab, and switch to "Do not automatically update this game." Steam will still flag your game as "Requires Update", but you can ignore it until you're sure it's safe to download. I've had it set like that ever since last patch left me unable to play the game for an entire day and introduced that annoying save bug in Nightcaller Temple :/ I refuse to let Steam update unless I start seeing mods say "latest patch required".

Just had the update install HD texture pack 03 and it has created some odd problems. Namely logs, buckets, random clutter and many activatable objects such as door levers/ chains and alchemey tables are now without any textures. Still usable but plain 'ol purple :(

Is there any way to roll-back this update? Or will I just have to de-activate my HD textures? I'm pretty new to modding and Elder scrolls in general, and wouldn't want to make a bigger mess than I've already got.

Thanks in advance.
