CookieMikee89
Hi everyone.Recently came back to Skyrim SE with the goal of making it look better and play better. Downloaded 50 or so mods and everything was working fine until today, where I got random CTD's. Stable FPS and all that, just CTD's. I don't really know why, and the CTD's aren't really connected, I think. Something I noticed was that when I ran FNIS and ticked the "TK Dodge/Ultimate Combat" Patch, there was a note beside it saying "CTD: 0.3%". I don't fully know what this means, but it's one of the only links I've established. anjenthedog
The percentages are something new in FNIS that (afaik) describes how likely that a given animation will cause a CTD/problem. Much as I'd love to say that 100% non CTD play can be had, I've grown used to the occasional CTD. If they're happening "all the time" that's one thing, but if you get a CTD once every play (for hours) or every few days, I'd consider that "normal" I'd recommend that when you go roaming, ie, on foot, especially between Rorikstead and Whiterun, save often. Not autosaves, new saves. and once the save completes, reload using that save. For whatever reason, most of my CTDs occur in this area of the game. Keep an eye on the sky around there as well, If you see a strange item hanging up in the sky, try to get the heck out of there and find an interior cell, sleep for a while, make a new save, exit, clean the save file, and reenter the game. I have no experience using any of the battle mods (tk dodge, etc) so I can't comment on that as a potential source of CTDs. I did have some issues with Obsidian Weather. (inexplicable CTDs, fog way too often, etc) They may have been my own fault so I won't harp on it, but removing it from my load list alleviated what I perceived to be issues associated with it so I figure it;s worth mentioning. The problems I experienced may or not have been resolved in some update or another...idk, haven't tried it again, or like I said, maybe it was something I did wrong.
