FingerMund
I buyed Skyrim when it was released and modded it immediatly when the first mods came out. I had like 200 mods on my Skyrim. Then my Windows crashed and i had to unistall and reinstall Skyrim. I tried to use Mods again but after about 30 Mods im having random CTD's. Strangely, all my Friends use tons of Mods but they had never any problems. Im wondering if it is because they all installed Skyrim only one time, not 2 times like me. Or because i didnt use NMM when i installed first. I hope you can help me,thanks in advance
Drems
I don't think that reinstalling Skyrim has anything to do with your CTD's. Since I'm trying a lot of mods I reinstalled the games about 10-15 times so far and never had a problem. But to get rid of some basic issues: - delete your skyrim.ini- use NMM for installing mods (check mod pages first! there are a few mods that don't support NMM)- use BOSS- check if one of your mods requires skse or ScriptDragon- if you use graphic/texture enhancements, try lite/low res versions If you're still getting CTD's after that there may be some incombatibility between your mods. masani23
Going off on what the OP said- I too use mods and often stop playing for periods of time because mods are making my game not work. I try to limit my use of mods to "essentials" but then they all end up "essential" and I'm at square one. What can I do? I'm not a beginner at all so I don't need "basic issue" support. I use boss but aside from it mending my load order I have no idea how to use that or TES5Edit or whatever. All I want from my mods are expanded gameplay functions (such as better Lycanthropes and Vamps, "Deadly Dragons", Climates of Tamriel etc) and graphics mods such as larger textures and lighting mods (which also make no sense to me, all these FXAA post whatevers and EN Who-nows) and obviously fixes/patches. My point is that I am often overwhelmed by all of the file replacing and updates and installs. How do I "deal" yo?
