fontconfig and skyrim interface issues after verifying game cache

i have the errors:

• "Skyrim - Interface.bsa" appears to be missing
• Failed to read fontconfig.txxt

 

 

so a friend was helping me get started with modding. basically holding my hand through it.

i have mods installed in the mod folder, same drive as my game install, and i installed skse64.

but for some reason these errors keep coming up.

from what i can tell this means that some stuff in my skyrim data folder isnt installed

so i checked and the files werent there! but after verifying the cache a:

skyrim decided to just reinstall the whole game for some reason

and b: the missing files werent reinstalled.

anyone got any solutions for this? i checked previous posts and they all just told me to verify the game cache, which id love to keep trying to do if it didnt take an hour to redownload the entire game every time. (i already did this once too and it didnt work)

i figured it out! for anyone having the same issues: delete your data folder before verifying the game cache. if the data folder already exists once you verify, skyrim doesnt replace the files inside of it.
