Crash on Modded new game

Whenever i try to start a new game, the game crashes a few seconds in, while you are being told "were you dreaming".

There is no error, just a "morrowind stopped working" message.

If there is a crash dump or report, i do not know its location. I already tried de-activating several mods to see which could be the culprit, all to no avail.

Assistance would be welcome.

Edited post due to accidentally posting imcomplete version.

Also, I had this issue before i installed morrowind overhaul, which triplified the size of my load list... just to say that many of the inconsistensie i noted myself while writing the previous post came after this problem started and are unlikely the cause of it.

Seems the problem may be oblivion style casting. Going to test it.

Looking at your post (and that of other posters) all I can think is that your machine m,ay well have got a "computer virus" or indeed some other form of malware.

 

The best I can advise is to find your Morowind saves (you should be able to find then in the Morrowind folder); then put them somewhere else - if you only have one drive, use a flash drive to put them on (If you have one).

 

Next Uninstall Morrowind - thoroughly - making sure you have remove all hard drive entries as well as all registry entries - For Instance I use System Mechaninc, but you only need a good system that will clean, format and optimise your registry. As far as the hard disk is concerned - if I remember correctly, you have to manually remove the final few files yourself..

 

If this is the case, a good disk defragmenter is usefull and should be used at this point, next re-install the Morrowind gmae and then the save files.

You should now find it works OK.
