Cannot Mine or Smelt

Hello fellow gamers,

 

I'm having a peculiar problem wherein I am unable to smelt or mine ore. When I try to mine, the moment the pickaxe hits the rock, the came CTDs. When I try to smelt, it zooms out for a few seconds like the smelting animation is about to start, but then stops and I'm back to standing in front of it.

 

The two problems MUST be interelated, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what is causing them. At first I thought it might be mod-related (which it still might be), so I disabled every mod that effects mining or smelting in anyway. I then rebuilt my Bashed Patch, reran ASIS, and made a clean save in an interior cell. Still the problem persists.

 

I haven't installed any new mods recently, but I hadn't played Skyrim in a few months, so I did update my old mods. I suspect that either one of the updates or one of the old unupdated mods is the culprit, but with every mod that interacts obviously with crafting disabled, I don't know what it is.

 

Here is the last thing Papyrus says before the crash. While I see an error in there, I don't know what it means, what is causing it, or how to fix it!

UPDATE 1: Disabling every mod except necessary ESMs does solve the problem. So if no one gets back to me soon, I'm going to start the agonizing process of disabling things one by one until I figure it out.

Can you replace your load order with your BOSS log (the one with the messages)? Include the list of plugins not recognized by BOSS (I can see them loading after your compatibility patches in that load order, but I want to be sure). Enclose both in a spoiler tag like you did with the load order.

Thank you for the response, ripple. I actually figured it. Not only where there a few problems with loaded mods I didn't notice, but there was a problem with PCEA. I had a few old files from the older versions that weren't uninstalled. Once I found and got rid of them, the problems stopped.

 

Fingers crossed at least. I'll update this again if it continues.

I too am having this issue - but only in the new areas I sailed back to Skyrim and could mine/smelt effectively?

 

Any ideas on how to fix?

Gorcossax, do you have PCEA installed (version 3.0 or later)?
