mystlineid
I have 65 mods currently, when i installed Dragonborn and started playing everything was fine, played for a couple of hour and then went to sleep, the next day after i come home from work and sit down to play i notice that a 1.5gb patch or so has finished installing, the official High Res texture dlc for Dragonborn, after that i start getting CTD from loading screen. i tried uninstalling all mods i had, that didn't work, i reinstalled three times, i had just about given up on my save which was about 190 hours long and created a new character, i played for an hour and decided to call it for tonight, i decided for the heck of it to quit to main menu and try one more time to load my save file again, and what do you know i get in.. i have no idea why, how or what the hell happend, but i got in. after that i installed most of the mods i had before and a few new ones and i started getting CTD / Freezes all over Solstheim every 1-10 minutes of gameplay, some nice people here pointed me to TES5Edit and BOSS and recommended i clean my mods if any were dirty, many were dirty, even the official DLC's were dirty.. i cleaned everything up and tried playing again, nearly no CTD after that, had a few of them at random locations but i manage to play for many, many hours without them now. But to summarize.. i think Dragonborn messes up ALOT of saves and mods and Bethesda has to patch the game soon rather then in my honest opinion. kaizersoze27
Yupe..it is texture pack then...I get CTDs and when I try the second time I go through with some temporary fps drop. I have some mods that help in FPS...reduced the quality of shadows, no shadows for grass, This mod that removes interior fog is also very helpful: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29253 I also have the SMCO: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13529, I use it to optimize DDS files only. All this has helped a lot and now I get less CTDs
kaizersoze27
@mystlineid: You do have many mods that enhance the textures and meshes in game, combined this with K-ENB, I think it will lead to slow performance. I think the new texture pack adds to the textures in both Dragonborn and also in Skyrim and the other two DLCs...I hope your computer has a kickass config. katling
I had a problems with CTD with the new texture pack for Dragonborn but I ended up just uninstalling it. I had the same problems because while my computer can handle Skyrim on High, it doesn't have enough oomph to handle Ultra or the texture packs. Disappointing but a new computer isn't in the budget until much later in the year.
Veladarius
I have about 240 mods installed and I have not had any problems with Dragonborn other than some animation issues which were easily fixed. I will say it is probably the creepiest thing in the Skyrim game though.
