girderland
Greetings fellow travelers, I found quite some material how to make the game more RP, but I still find myself starting a new character every now and then because I still find it easy to play even on master difficulty and without exploiting the game mechanics (too much). However I found the best way to immerse yourself is thinking of your character more as an accountant instead of an account, by spending all money you have immediately on short lasting stuff (draught of glibness, orcish arrows, black briar-mead), only wearing armor found in chests, wearing equipment appropriate for you (steel armor only with heavy armor 35 for example), only looting gold, lockpicks, arrows, enchanted items. Take your time for everything, wait after smithing (2h), mining(4h/ore), tanning leather (2h | takes in real life several weeks), leave offerings at shrines, steal only on special occasions, never carry more than 10 potions, eat at least once a day, only brew potions you have a recipe of..Also try to be realistic, when I put on heavy armor and jump around rocks or icebergs, I don't swim if i fall into water, I walk on the ground until i reach the shore. Have you ever tried swimming with all your clothes on? How do you swim in iron armor then? You can also use showracemenu to add dirt to your face after a week in jail or heavy fighting or to wash the dirt off in a river. RPing may sound silly at times but definitely improves the overall experience. Feel free to share any additional ideas! girderland
just wanted to add that I got my ultimate rp settings together now - being lvl 3 after 5 days of playing. Timescale 5, leveling 5x slower, carrying capacity reduced to 50. Feels realistic and balanced, yet very hard in the start and with many hours of adventuring guaranteed. have fun!
