global33
hi! ive never modded before but im trying to learn how to retexture dogmeat. my problem is this: i used bae to extract the dogmeat texture dds files but when i open them, theyre incomplete, like this: (this is a screenshot in sai from when i tried converting them to psd - but the same thing happens in photoshop and with dds in gimp) the weirdest thing is that when i view the psd (same files just converted to psd) thumbnails in sai, they look like this: but when i open them it looks like its missing a bunch of parts or layers :/ when i opened it in gimp as a dds i was excited bc i saw it layers but they were just the same thing in smaller sizes any help is greatly appreciated!!! global33
someone on youtube suggested this: "Hey! Try downloading a different BSA Browser, the one in this video is possibly outdated(?) Try this one https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17061 A work around, while not great is you could download a dog meat re-texture and use those dds files instead. If the dogmeat re-texture files you download from the Nexus still look weird then it's probably the program you're trying to open them in. Dogmeat Retexture https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10891/?tab=images" unfortunately neither solution worked )-:
yoroxid
Hi, you probably solved, but I had the same issue. Using Gimp and the dds plugin.I soved the problem with few steps: - convert the .dds files into .jpg (I used DDS Converter)- from .jpg to .png using Gimp (or Photoshop) (if you convert directly from .dds to .png still incomplete otherwise)- removed the black background, add the tranparency and that's all You can now edit the complete texture.
