thinfeniel
Hello, there's a problem that came up with the game i never experienced before; (i have the Ultimate Edition);I haven't played in a while, but had the game still installed. When i tried to start a new origin, i got stuck however: All of a sudden, interaction with NPCs is impossible. I can still interact with objects (looting, getting codex entries, etc.) I am however unable to initiate any kind of dialogue - which, of course, completely breaks the game for i cannot finish any quests or start new ones. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, yet the problem remains;i've installed the patches from the bioware site, but no mods. This Problem is not only in Dragon Age Origins, but in all of the DLC i tried as well (Awakening, Witch Hunt, Golems of Amgarrak, Leliana's Song) i do not know what to do; can some software update (like the nvidia driver) interfere with the game like that? Any help would be appreciated. thanks, thinfeniel
Thandal
Never heard of this problem before. It's not that you have Dialogue Volume turned all the way down is it? Naaah, you'd still get your PC's response choices... I got nuthin'.
Sync182
I might have suggested checking/updating your Mouse Driver, but I'm not sure 'cause you can interact with other objects. Maybe uninstall the game completely, delete all related folders, then install to a different location/path (eg install to D:\Games rather than C:\Program Files) and play a vanilla (ie no custom mods installed at all) game first...? Otherwise...I'd suggest heading off to the EA boards and asking them. Edited February 9, 2013 by Sync182
thinfeniel
thank you for your quick answers; uninstalling and reinstalling (even under a different direction) sadly didn't work; still trying to fix it. EDIT:it's working again; somehow fiddling with my drivers for Nvidia and Nvidia PhysX seems to have done the trick.
