XCOM Forum login drops back to Main forum

While the XCOM Forum is one of the newer ones, I really expected 'general' functionality found in the other forums to be present. Case in point: When I'm on the Oblivion Forum page and choose 'login' there, I am returned to that page when login is complete. The XCOM Forum drops me back in the main general 'Nexus Forums' page. This gets old fast.

 

On a related note, because it might have an impact upon why this is happening, I am using the FireFox 18.0.2 password manager. It does not find the same key elements on the initial popup overlay for the login on the forum page as are present on the web page you are taken to if that login fails. This is what happens to me in the above case, but not when I go through the same process on the Oblivion Forum page: the overlay pops up, I enter a shortened version of my login (because I know the password won't be filled in anyway), I get dumped to the 'failed login' web page, and then enter the first character of my login and select the correct username from the popup list FF gives me. It's that page that does not seem to know where I came from.

 

So it appears there are two related issues: 1) inconsistent element names on the two login displays, and 2) a lack of tracking the origin page when the login fails over to the 'failed login' page.
