mhahn123
So I'm having a problem opening a mod in the GECK. Specifically "Underground Hideout" by DanTheGeek. I want to make a few changes to fit my personal tastes and manor of use for the hideout. The problem is the mod is mastered to Fallout3 esm and each of the DLC esm simultaneously. When I try to load the mod in the GECK, I get an error message regarding multiple masters and the GECK aborts the operation and closes. In fact I've found by toying around with it that this happens with any mod having more than two master files. Is there something I'm missing here? Changes to the ini file that I need to make possibly? Obviously it's possible to use more than two masters or mods like this couldn't have been created in the first place. Any hints or suggestions appreciated.

mhahn123
Hey micalov, Thanks for the speedy reply. I was just coming back to post a "I already found it" message. But your info is basically spot on anyway, although for NV instead of Fallout 3 but I imagine they are very similar, so thank you again. I was scouring the ini file, very frustrated, unwilling to just waste my free modding time doing nothing, and stumbled across it. Don't know how I missed it the first three times.. :whistling:. For anyone else who runs into this little stumbling block here are the exact details for Fallout 3. The GECK ini file is indeed located in Documents/My Games/Fallout 3. There are two txt files for the GECK, the one you want is titled "GECKCustom - Notepad". Open it up and scroll down into the section labeled [General]. Look for a line that reads "bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=0. Change the 0 to 1. This will allow you to load and/or create plugins dependant on multiple master files. May also save you from pulling your hair and uttering choice words as I did.
