enkephalin07
Interesting; so do they stop hunting you now that you've joined, or do your buddies still ambush you at random? Personally I think the name choice is just unimaginative apathy, but they could be a revival of any of the vigilante or revolutionary groups over the years. Billy the Kid may have been the most famous bandit, but at the time those Regulators formed it was to avenge an unlawful murder.
Skree000
You guys do know that it takes thousands of years for radiation to fully dissapate, depending on the size and scope of the nuclear holocaust? Its only been a hundred or two years since the war.... depending on where you live in regards to where the most bombs fell, you should still encounter insane rads I always chuckled at how Beth does radioactivity in the game being so slight and subtle.... oh look! i swam in the Potomic! +1 rads / sec! oh dear i think im getting a tan! BethSoft treats radiation like it was treated in the 1950s SF movies, which is the setting of the game. Talking about "realism" in this context is silly. None of the games in the series (or pretty much anything else BethSoft has done) are supposed to be "realistic."
GreyViper
I think S.T.A.L.K.E.R CS got the radiation right, invisible and deadly.
ZuluFoxtrot
Ghouls are sterile, and their isn't enough radiation left to produce more, therfore ALL ghouls, including feral ones, are pre-war. Or early post-war, right?

No matter the size or concentration of nuclear detonations won't affect the half-life of the radiation. The faster-moving isotopes would've long since dissipated, the slower would still be present but their radiation level would be about as faint as it is in the game. It may last thousands of years, but it would be negligible by then.
