BinaryMessiah Posted February 11, 2013 Share Posted February 11, 2013 Well, after having my original installation from launch day and over 600 saves I finally had to reinstall my copy of Skyrim :/. I installed the Dragonborn DLC and the game kept crashing and freezing randomly. I used BOSS to re-order my mods...didn't work. Over the last 6 months I have had constant CTDs and have tried troubleshooting the issue hundreds of times. Will modding the same installation for over a year cause corruptions everywhere to require a reinstall? I also had an issue where my saves would CONSTANTLY become corrupted. I would save 4-5 times and maybe 1 would load the next time I started the game. I also had issues where pressing the start button on my controller caused CTD. I tried keeping my installation as clean and neat as possible like uninstalling and deleting mods from NMM before installing a new update. What do you guys think the problem could have been? maybenexttime Posted February 11, 2013 Share Posted February 11, 2013 Did you have any of the unofficial patches installed?Did you uninstall all mods when reinstalling Skyrim? Dragonborn is known to have hordes of bug the UDBP cleans a lot of it up. People were experiencing a ton of CTD after installing DB. I had a few myself. I'd uninstall the entire game and all mods and start from scratch. Yes it is annoying but what other choice you have, unless someone can post here and tell me as well. Install a few mods and than test skyrim, and do it again and again I'd guess it's the DB DLC. Some mods are not even updated to support DB yet.
